LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers lost the Biletnikoff Award by one vote to Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Per NOLA.com:
quote:

Malik Nabers had a shot to become the third LSU player honored with the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the best receiver in college football.

But the LSU star finished second in voting for the award, it was announced Friday night at ESPN's College Football Awards show, behind Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr. and ahead of Washington's Rome Odunze. Harrison bested Nabers by one vote to win the award.

Nabers finished the 2023 season with the most total receiving yards (1,546) and the highest yards per game average (128.8) in the country. Plus, he caught the seventh-most passes (86) and the second-most touchdowns (14) this season.

For some reason with this award they look at last year and preseason hype instead of current year stats. Does not make sense

Why do they let bias sportswriters, with regional agendas vote for these awards!?! Nabers, clearly, had the better season by every metric and it isn’t even close! MHJr’s season should have placed him at around 9th in the rankings. Nabers had the better statistical season, against a stronger SOS (schedule), and against more/better 4 & 5-star DB’s in the SEC vs Big 10! By no metric, did MHJr have as good a season, as Nabers … this is an outright travesty!!

They are BUT that’s not the argument, the award goes to the best WR, not the best WR with HOF WR Dad, but surely that wasn’t considered, Nah surely Not, journalist love them some sappy story, not play on the field.

Now everyone understand why McCord entered the transfer portal. To the Anti-SEC crowd and media pundits, Harrison is so good, he can throw the ball to himself, catch it and is good enough to tackle himself. The award goes to then best WR in the country, not the Big Ten. Harrison is the best in the Big Ten and Nabers is the best in the country. The award should not be frailties to Harrison, because Daniels is likely to win the Heisman.

Lets hope he takes it to heart and does what jets did in the NFL after being picked after so many other Wr's in the NFL draft.

Lost all confidence in that humans can vote correctly and NOT be bias or bought.

I haven’t seen enough of Harrison to have an opinion but Malik is incredible after the catch. So explosive l, and such change of direction. He’s dangerous.

One day Malik will be on an NFL team opposite the chosen Harrison and Malik will be ready to shine.

Take the name off of the ballot and just post the numbers and the vote would not be close.

They need to yank that guy's vote. That was nowhere near objective, that was to hurt Malik the most...plain & simple.

He got screwed because i’ve of Malik Nabers and the other is Marvin Harrison’s kid. Such a shame, they weren’t even close in performance. Malik won that outright.

Its obvious that some of these "voters" do not watch college football and are extremely biased.

MHJ wouldn't even be the best or second best on LSU. Malik & Brian are both better

Robbed. But CFB corruption is more evident to more folks every single season.

Guess Herbie weighed in, or some OSU booster. No way he’s a better WR than Nabers. Hope he gets the LSU record in the bowl game and blows up in the NFL. Worst vote since Peyton missed the Heisman to som Mich. guy?
