The only part I hate about this quote is how he defended his game one use of Perkins at the end. Just say we messed up. Don’t say we messed up but we made the right decision. Just say you messed up and are fixing it. It’s that simple. That’s all fans want to hear

We need some elite DBs in this class. We need at least 1 young corner and 1 young safety to emerge for next years team. We also need to land more DLman. We need at least 2 more top 15 type players and 1 top 10. Then we need to hit the portal hard at DL and I’d start evaluating now. FSU showed us that we can get quality guys in the portal. Hell we have gotten quality guys in the portal so we can do it again. But we still need to keep stacking the young guys and allowing them to develop with portal guys coming to make immediate impacts. Of course if we get lucky like we have on the OL then that can change quickly but if not then we need to really hunt for some elite guys. Offer them the freakn world, I don’t care. We need to get them over here and playing some good football. I agree with most people that LSU and this staff will HAVE to battle it out for some elite talent at our most concerning areas for now at the very least. Get them over here, build this into something special and then hit the recruiting trail with some real ammunition and proof that this is a championship caliber program. We will fight for the best players and we will get some to help the current guys to look even better. I think our coaches are very good but we need players to back that up. So our coaches need to have the mindset that we will fight with anyone to get there. Then you can pull the reigns back a little once you see you don’t need to offer the world to them because they can see it’s here already and want to come play at LSU. We have many advantages in other areas, like stadium, like TV opportunities, crazy rabid fans, a bad arse reputation, toughness and so on. Now let’s go get the players to maximize it all and make improvements to it all. That’s it.
