During the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday, Brian Kelly said they won't be changing the defensive scheme for the Alabama game and using Harold Perkins as a spy for spy against quarterback Jalen Milroe. Per SDS:

“No, we wouldn’t change the structure of our defense,” Kelly said during the SEC coaches teleconference. “So we’ve established who we are from a defensive standpoint. There are different fronts that we use and 3rd down obviously is where you consider using the spy and as you know he’s been part of our pass rush.”
Kelly said that he does plan on giving the elite linebacker the chance to either rush or drop back on defense, but the Tigers will not have Perkins playing as the spy on Saturday against Alabama.
“So there obviously are opportunities to do some things with him that allow him to rush or drop depending on what the particular calls are,” Kelly said. “In answering the question in its form, no, we wouldn’t have to do anything to change the structure of the defense to include him into different segments of a defense that could include dropping, blitzing, spying and still have it be part of our new structure.”
