Former LSU infielder Grayson Byrd is expected to transfer to Clemson, according to a report from TheClemsonInsider.com.
quote:

As a freshman at LSU, Byrd hit .212 (7-for-33) with nine RBI in 24 games (five starts) as the backup to Alex Bregman, the No. 2 overall pick earlier this summer in the MLB Draft.

Byrd (6-3, 180) is expected to enroll at Clemson in January. Because of NCAA transfer rules, he won’t be eligible to play for the Tigers until 2017.
Byrd is from King’s Ridge High School in Milton, Ga and left LSU after his freshman season.

I don't understand this at all...He had an opportunity to potentially start at LSU as a sophomore, but instead opts to transfer to another D-1 school and sit out a year. I wish the guy the best of luck, but I think he made a bad decision.
