Former LSU baseball player Chis Sciambra will be joining the Nicholls State football program this fall to compete as a placekicker and punter for the Colonels, according to WAFB.com:

Sciambra has one year of eligibility remaining after graduating from LSU in the Spring.

Sciambra walked on to the LSU football team last August, but never appeared in a game. However, things could be different in Thibodaux.

"I wanted to go after the opportunity to get on the field, on a regular basis and I felt Nicholls was my best opportunity to do so," said Sciambra. "I felt that I would regret letting my last year of eligibility go to waste, if I passed on this opportunity."
