Man Killed In Avalanche At Popular California Skiing Resort

Tahoe brah. Some fresh pow fell last night.

I've been to just about every Tahoe resort and I've never heard of "Palisades Tahoe" so I had to look it up. Now I learn that a couple of years ago Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows (which are next to each other) merged into a single resort and now has a new name. It seems strange to abandon the famous name Squaw Valley (home of the 1960 Winter Olympics), but they changed it because "squaw" was seen as a "racist and sexist slur".
