I can’t imagine there’s a person with more regret than Michael LaSasso. I almost feel for some of the young guys who went to LIV because they listened to someone they grew up admiring in Phil.

I don't feel sorry for LaSasso. He moved with way more information than anyone else that moved.
I played an emulator version of Nintendo World Cup. I remember loving the game as a kid where you could do the special bicycle kick for each team to unlock a super shot. Man, it was really terrible to play when I picked it back up. My wife and kids were out for the evening, and I thought I would play that while they were out. It lasted about 10 minutes.

All chants sound awful when you can hear the guy filming doing it. I am not saying this is a good chant, but it sounds way worse when one person's voice is distinct.

The Who Dat chant in the dome sounds incredible in person when the dome is rocking. I watched an old video of mine where you can hear my voice the entire time; the video was awful.

I'm more surprised they didn't announce a mario game..

The more I think on it, the more I think Mario Odyssey may be my favorite game of all time. I just don't see how they can go so long without creating a new 3D Mario, especially on a new system.
If you are going to get one of these systems, it's definitely more useful for the Strokes Gained data than distance. You can adjust it to your handicap to get an idea of how you compare. You may think you are losing shots due to putting, but the strokes gained may show that you are putting fine but your approach shots are killing you. It could help find weaknesses that you can improve.

My problem was that I didn't have time to practice. So, while I love data, I wasn't doing anything with it.
When I used to use Shotscope, they had a P-average that removed outliers like fatted shots and such. I really liked it, but I realized I was having to do too much editing after rounds to get accurate shots. I also had it in the back of my mind when I would practice swing. So, the concept seemed great to me, but eventually favored my in round enjoyment over post round enjoyment.

I believe arcos has recently come out with a system that doesn't use trackers on clubs and is supposed to be very low maintenance. I haven't used it or know anyone that has, though.

I'm trying to picture him in Jumanji and drawing a blank. Can't recall which character he played.

I had to look it up. Google says he played an exterminator. I don't remember an exterminator in the movie.

Ted Scott is not going to put up with Scottie's Bubba Watson 2.0 behavior! Stay tuned!

Ted Scott would have been top 50 in earnings as a caddie last year. I think he'll put up with Scottie if it keeps him rich.
I watched True Romance this week due to the thread where people were calling it a top 5 movie for them..... I do not get it. Yeah, I liked the Walken and Gandolfini scenes, but the rest of the movie was just fine. Maybe I am too dumb to understand the genius of the gunfight scene, but I thought it was ridiculous.

2) There’s only one reason to cover your mouth when engaging an opponent. It’s done in the modern game for a single reason. Let’s not overthink it

I don't really have a problem with the rule, but this is not true at all. I've seen opponents conversing plenty of times before games and during injury breaks where they cover their mouth for a friendly conversation. It seems pretty common in the NBA when the cameras are very close and players don't want the world to know every conversation they are having.

What does that say?

That if they tried to shoehorn Chicago into the season, it might have to be at a lower tier course. It seems none of the previous places either fit or want a tournament. That's how LIV ended up at a nothing course in Chicago. So, go to good courses that want the tournament. That's my argument.

Lot of rumors floating around that Tier 1 guys won't be eligible to play tier 2 events.

That would be pretty shocking to me. Let's say I am RBC. The PGA Tour comes to me and says we want you to put up X dollars for a Track 2 event, oh, and Cam Young, one of your ambassadors, is not allowed to play in it. That just doesn't make sense. I am not saying you are wrong, though.

I get it from a strictly competitive standpoint. These 125 guys already have access to the 15-18 big events. It would not be fair to allow them to come take points from guys that can't play in those events. This is just another example of why completely reconfiguring how the tour works will take time.

Donkey Kong 64 on NSO today

I know it wasn't the best game in the world, but I have fond memories as a kid playing this on the 64. I just fired it up between meetings and listened to the DK rap. I figured guys that grew up with a 64 might want to know that this is available. Hopefully Diddy Kong racing is not far behind.

It's hilarious that in a time where golf is as popular as ever, the PGA tour is trying to play a lot less golf.

They will still have events virtually every week, but they won't all be track 1 events. They have had multiple guys skip out on signature events this year. If a 20 million dollar purse isn't enough to get all the best players to be in each tournament, they are trying to figure out what will do that. You will still see guys like Spieth and Scheffler play in track 2 Texas events if they want, but these track 1 events will be the ones where they are trying to get all the top players to play.

I am on board with pretty much all of their proposals with the exception of the big market events. If big cities were good for tournaments, they'd already have them. If Chicago happens to be a great spot for a tournament, good, but don't force it.

Bad idea. I get the reason but it's so easy to do in the normal course of a game (scratching nose, wiping sweat, etc).

The ESPN article explained that it would only be called if there is a confrontation. If two opponents are having a friendly conversation, they can cover their mouths.

Many may disagree, but I hate the long goal calls by Spanish play-by-play guys. If you're not going to say anything poignant, just lay out and let me hear the sounds from the celebrations in the stadium. I loved the excitement from the call prior to the goal, then it's just unnecessary.
I doubt Jack's influence is close to what it used to be.

The reason it keeps getting delayed is because they aren't building this thing from scratch. There are so many factors involved. It's like pulling Christmas lights out of the attic. It's going to take a while to untangle all the knots.

If Rolapp allows an 86 year old man to dictate his plans or allows that same man to cause him to quit, I don't think he was cut out for the job in the first place.

I wasn't so much arguing to not practice the short game, it was more so that trying to get too cute with the short game can be costly. And, yes, 3 putts happen, but the argument for getting the ball on the green first and foremost is because of how difficult it is to one putt. A 20 handicap is usually below 50% make rate on putts from outside 5 feet. So, even if they pull off a 1/10 shot from off the green to get a chance, they're probably not making the putt. The risk may not be worth the reward.

So, yes, if you have time, work on the short game. However, if you want to break 90 without a lot of time to work on your game, make the game a lot easier on you by hitting simple shots around the green to make sure your next shot is a putt.

Actually, this video has helped me lately. I'm just always thinking what shot will keep the ball as close to the ground as possible and keep my swing speed down.

June 19th will have the USA in a World Cup game and the US Open at Shinnecock Hills. This may be the most excited I get for a day of sports for the entire year.

I would argue that to break 90, this is not necessary. A guy trying to break 90 is not going to get up and down 50% of the time. Get the ball on the green and 2 putt. Avoid the disaster of needing to hit a second short game shot.
