re: going to see my friend who strung all the cat6a. bad idea to buy a crimping tool?
Posted by Dam Guide on 6/9/26 at 11:18 am to LemmyLives
Running network cable is stupid easy.
Spend the money to get a decent crimping tool as a good one is worth it, makes the job easier and less likely to have to redo connections. Also get a fox and hound that can check your pairs.
We just got upgraded to 5gigs for free in Chattanoga, glad I ran it.

That was too good of an actor and line to waste on freakin Street Fighter
If they do it on YouTube I will try and ping you if I see it again
People regularly read it through streaming, the official Facebook group is where they post when they do it.
I think it is tied to their publishing agreement to keep it in the new version of the books.

re: Bricks and Minifigs (Lego reseller), scammed a family out of $200k in legos

I get that Ben plays things up for clicks, but I just don't buy this. A national chain is exerting an inordinate amount of effort to "Steal" $200k worth of Lego? And $200k? Really? Maybe $50k.
200k was the market value of the entire lego collection. That's a clickbait amount of money. They were never going to make that amount of money and the family acknowledges that, that 200k includes a percentage the store would take from the sale as well. The store could easily charge the public around 200k for the entire collection if it was all sold.
The actual value the family had left to collect off the sale of the sets and mini figures to sell was between 60-100k, the family was asking for 80k to resolve everything from B&M. Two of the sets they had left to sell alone go for 10k each market value.
The shop had already sold some sets and paid them to Bryan before corporate idiots took over the store.
The set list with what sold is out there with market value, it does not include the minifigure list. I'm not sure the former owner tracked that as thoroughly.

At BEST they call local cops or highway patrol to deal with it.
The problem is the guy made a legal exit. That's how you exit the highway there. The HOV lane ends and lets you get in it to take a left turn exit off the interstate there. The whole stop was illegal to begin with no matter if it was in his jurisdiction.

I’ve been keeping up with it.
How is this police department not shut down? They’re a criminal organization.
Did you see where they pulled over someone an hour outside of their jurisdiction for making a legal exit? Lackluster posted a video last week. This department needs to be disbanded.
Also, I don't know if they fixed it yet. In the police response video the first section where they talk about the fake UPS delivery with the rubber ducks to Joshua Johnson since the whole video is about Joshua being stalked. They messed up bad. That section was never about Joshua. That section was the other franchise owner Brandon Best. The reason we know, they show the package label in the police response video and dox Brandon Best's address for everyone. And you can tell its an entirely different house from the rest of the videos in that response video. Incompetence along with corruption.

At least upload a picture of you standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. Would be such a fine site to see.
The song is a lie, it happened in Flagstaff, but that doesn't sound as good in lyrics.

Well we know who Samantha is now so I think her true identity will be driving her part of the Ascendancy and plot moving forward.
I think Matt is going to throw us a curveball there. I think her daughter is the scavenger's daughter, but the scavenger is the father. I think it was Rosetta that discusses some of this in Parade and the choices the AI has in the story.

Making a main character gay to own the chuds is such a short sighted and ridiculous move no matter what your political persuasion is. Besides Katia and Bautista's romance, there's not another love interest that directly affects the plot. This only serves to detract from the main story and create headlines.
I am guessing it's going to affect the plot as much as the side character Dong did in Parade. I doubt the relationship stuff goes beyond that. Could be something as simple as Mordecai discussing his relationship with Chaco in his backstory.
re: My theory on why baby boomers are criticized
Posted by Dam Guide on 5/26/26 at 11:27 am to CleverUserName
Boomers got cheap housing, college on a part time job, and pension retirements. Then they constantly harp about how kids today just need to work hard to get these things. Those frickers wouldn't know what to do if they came out of high school in today's environment.

He could also be trolling.
I doubt it, he use to take a lot of crap about having the Critical Drinker in book 3. Drinker was someone that knew Jeff and Matt didn't know him or who he was back then. The subreddit use to be filled with complaints about Drinker, Matt released a big statement denouncing Critical Drinker/his politics and that he has plans to rerecord the old books to fit with the newer voices and remove Drinker from the audio books. Matt is very liberal, he's not gonna troll about that.

The French side has some good markets, restaurants, and bakeries.
It definitely gets packed, especially when the biggest plane of the day flies through, but it's fun if you aren't a complainer.
They have a couple of bars with fresh fruit daiquiris that aren't bad priced for a tourist trap. It's worth a visit to see it.

I’m biased but I still haven’t had bbq in KC that reaches the level of best bbq I’ve had in Texas
It says a lot when one of the best places in KC used to be called Oklahoma Joe's
Texas is my #1 as well. I am not a huge fan of Memphis BBQ. Most of the places I have had that are good in other states are pretty much Texas BBQ. For example, the best place in my area is Wardlaw's which is pretty much Texas BBQ.
Mordecai is also an option and the biggest guess right now.
Book 2 he says:
Carl: How's your head?
Incubus Mordecai: I've had no.... wait, what do you mean?

It was ok. Not terrible but not great. Kind of predictable.
This is exactly how I felt, it's not awful, it was a safe ending. I'm glad it's over. I doubt I will watch any offshoots unless they start getting good reviews.
