No one under 50 takes their families to sit down restaurants anymore except for special occasions, and then its at a steak or Italian place.

The hour+ wait filled with families at Superior Grill on a regular basis says otherwise.

The internet likes to say nobody dines out anymore, but places are packed every time I go out, so I’m just not seeing it.

My pet peeve is people adding ‘s to places that don’t have it.

Eliza’s
Palermo’s
Etc.

Digulio's will give you 4x the portion size but will taste half as good

 I have a soft spot for DiGiulio's, but I agree.

I've recently found a somewhat obscure (for me, at least) dish on the menu I really like, but otherwise their spaghetti, lasagna, etc. just doesn't compare to say Gino's.

Yeah, it's been a while. They have the Jones Creek one, but they stated they wanted to focus on catering.

seems like a lot of these generic (I don't mean that in a negative way) South Louisiana bar and grill type of places are really struggling lately.

I think some will stand the test of time (Phils, George's Southside, Brewbachers), but overall I think the younger generations just aren't enamored with fried seafood platters and poboys like the older folks were.

These places also tend to not be the best version of what they offer. Don't get me wrong. I am a huge George's Southside fan... because I like the staff, the regulars, and sitting at the bar with a Miller Lite wrapped in a napkin. In no world is their burger or club sandwich the best in town.

They were part of Wayne Stabiler's group. Hardly a small business.

Didn’t he give all the restaurants away to managers except for Palermo, to spend more time with family? Maybe he’s just ready to be done with it all.
I know! The flavor is there, but I never understood why they couldn’t double or even triple the cheapest part of the dish.. pasta.
Disappointing. I really liked their food.

I did find that the items I had ordered were very small(er) considering the price that I paid.

This was my only negative comment on the place as well. It is the perfect amount of food for me, but I can't imagine taller grown men are getting their fill from some of those dishes. My husband likes the shrimp dishes, but always jokes that he should order a side of pasta with it to mix in.

I went on two senior trips. Both in Orange Beach. My mom was chaperone on the first one, but they were not "family trips" otherwise. It was a bunch of friends.

I tagged along on my brother's senior trip 2 years later because, again, my mom was chaperone of that one.

Our last mattress had piss and nosebleed stains from our 2nd child... it looked like a frickin crime scene. The wine stains didn't help.

Do y’all not keep a mattress cover on your mattresses? They’re like $25 and machine washable.
I feel like I’m missing some kind of gene or something because so many people are repulsed by popcorn smell; and I’m just not. Even if burnt. I don’t want it burnt, but the smell isn’t a huge deal to me.

Article also states the kid caught Covid... and they pulled the plug after 48hrs. So much in this story.

their blackjack chicken sandwich is awesome.

This has always been my favorite, but I got it two weeks ago and it was a straight up salt lick. They must have done something with the blackening seasoning. I couldn't eat it, and I love salt.

I agree though.. their burgers are good, and at least the LSU location has one of the best gumbos around.
Same height. I think I'm stuck here for life.
I know it feels like forever, but I'm still not very old yet.

about ten years ago i had a crazy made up health scare where i was convinced i was dying. Weeks after i knew i wasn't i could not get my body/brain to relax. Prior to this i was prob the least anxious, carefree, happiest person i knew.

It's weird how health issues can trigger it for us. I'm the same way, as is my father.

I was put on Prozac 3 weeks ago, and while it wasn't grand at first, I've really settled in and am feeling much less anxious and even comfortable/content. Everything you describe in your post has been me - guilt, shame, butterflies, etc. And I get full blown paranoid about health issues. The Prozac has helped tremendously, and it is just a baby dose.

Although: Full disclosure, I've cut back on my drinking (which was far heavier than average) simultaneously. Allowing myself to drink some socially on weekends, but no more shots and whatnot. I'm ex service industry and still friends with mostly "bar people", so that was harder than it probably seems to the average person.

I think waking up with a clear mind, a full night of sleep, and not feeling like shite has greatly contributed to how good I feel. I head to Napa next week, and it will truly be a test of how well I can manage regulating alcohol and staying even keel.

I bought something at Trader Joe's that looked like a sushi roll. Instructions said you could eat cold or hot.

I chose hot.

Bigly mistake.

Had to leave my house.

You must be referring to the kimbap
Defrosted a burrito from the homemade breakfast burritos I made and froze forever ago.

I've clearly been sleeping on these. We are down to just 2 left, and this is my first time trying one.
