We'll watch the US games with low expectations and the semifinals and finals. And probably any of the knockout round where two traditional Powers are involved. England, Germany, France, Argentina, etc.

I guess we will also watch Columbia because my son is a fan. Not because he is hoping for a career in the drug cartel but because he started watching them against England a couple of world cups ago and became a fan cuz they wear yellow and he likes bananas. Doesn't get any more straightforward than that.

I would probably watch more games if they just jumped straight to the penalty kicks.

I ran the numbers not long ago, since I'm within 5 years of age 62 now.

Should I collect SS at 62? 67? 70?

The pros of waiting (higher payout) have to be weighed against the cons (who knows how long I'll live, the gubmint holding my money even longer, SS solvency concerns).

So, I verified the math...

If I take out at earliest age of 62, and invest all of it until 67, I'll come out ahead as long as I get at least 7.00% annual return.

So, I plan to start drawing at 62.

As for solvency of SS, it's probably going to be achieved by the 3 part cocktail: print money, raise the minimum age to draw, raise the SS payroll tax cap.

So even y'all admit its temporary. Your arse whippings will resume in March.

My default response is "NOPE" with a matter of fact tone and that usually gets them moving to complete the transaction.

What's even more annoying to me is when CVS or Tractor Supply want me to donate to save handicapped puppies. Hey, I have my own list of charities I support. Now's not the time. Just let me get my wife's CBD gummies and or laying hen medicine and leave.
