In the other thread people ahve mentioned we are not pursuing or reached out to him. He has visited a couple SEC schools with another to go

It seems like Jay is happy to just have Braun locking up 1B

Yeah I think Jack ruckert will be a good player but he ain’t Ryan schimpf

Schimpf had some incredible small guy power. Dude hit 20 homers in half of an MLB season. He had 60 hits that season and 42 of them were for extra bases
quote:

I'm surprised they allow that. I'm staying 4 days, so I will just book it as 2 2 day stays.

From what I've found on reddit, most hotels dont even require you to change rooms either even if its 2 separate bookings. I like that chase does it this way than the Jan-Jun/Jul-Dec way AMEX approaches it, ebcause you can just turn a 4 night stay into 2 night stays with the full $500 credit in this instance without having to game it over 2 different parts of the year.

AMEX platinum has its benefits too though because it requires just a 1 night stay if you choose a fine hotel/resort over The hotel collection.

So each has its own perks depending on what you see as more valuable.
Maybe I'm out of touch with new stadium construction but $1.5B seems like it would buy you a whole new one

I think they built Mercedes Benz stadium in ATL for that, granted that was 10 years ago
So we're hitting them hard, but all their armed forces are supposedly gone, great way to contradict yourself in the very first sentence

HAs he still not committed somewhere else? He decommitted a few months ago now

Is he going to JUCO maybe or something?

I think the top need right now is another starting OF... I hope another big offensive piece. Patrick can play CF, not to mention we may see one or two of the blue chip HS commits in the OF make it to campus.

Not saying they definitely wont get another OF, but we have 5 outfielders in the incoming freshman class; 4 of which are very very highly rated (in PG Top 50). They obviously dont expect close to all 5 to make it in but they expect bare minimum 2 of them and are hoping for 3. I think there's a good chance we find a starting OF from the freshman class. There's even a scenario where Braun could wind up in the OF (or another current player even).

The top end of this class is pretty similar to last year (11 Top 100 vs. 12 Top 100 last year) but the depth destroys last year's class by comparison (7 guys ranked 101-200 vs. 4 from last year). 8/17 guys went MLB last year and hoping for a much much better ration this year with 24 guys in the freshman class. We have 2 JUCO commits too.

In the portal, not returning
Pearson hit .188 against the SEC this year with an OPS south of .700 at 21 years old while also being in/out the lineup

I'm pretty sure they arent just penciling him in as a starter for next year with no competition in mind or being recruited right now.
quote:

I’m still thinking Jay lands about another 4-5 more transfer portal players. But got to think majority of that number will be pitchers. Really good start to the portal for Jay and the Tigers.

It's so hard to know how many more we'll grab in the portal without having a great idea of how many of this massive freshman class makes it to campus as well as a handful of more decisions from current players on the team

I'm sure Jay obviously has a pretty good idea on most but surely there's a few up in the air even for him
quote:

Weren't you people bragging about last year's portal haul also?
The haul that missed the tournament.

Last year's haul wasn't even ranked Top 10 on 64 analytics, only 5 of the 9 players were even Top 250 on their list, none in the Top 20, only 3 in Top 100

We got a Top 5 player already this year, All 3 commits are Top 130 thus far

It's shaping up to be quite a different class. If you go by BA's ranking from last week we have the Top 2 players in the portal
quote:

I would assume that Milam is gone, and if that's the case I would love Chris Ramirez.

I think we would all love Ramirez, getting 3 Top 6 players in the portal from BA's original ranking list would be absolutely wild though

How do you think Skenes would do at the plate?

Considering he probably hasn't picked up a bat in over 3 years (Almost 4) and last did it in competition at Air Force 4+ years ago, probably very poorly

Here was the last time he picked up a bat at all - fall 2022 at LSU:

Hit .216 but with 5 HRs in fall ball prior to 2023 season

I'm looking at a 4-5 night stay, so could I book them separately the same day and get both $250 credits?

Yes you can book say a Wed-Fri and the Fri-Sun and get 2 $250 credits (1 for each "stay" even at same place), make sure to pay now not at the hotel if its for a date later than this year, to get this years credit done

You can triple stack the edit with the $300 general travel credit (if you havent used it) and the IHG/omni ("Select"), etc $250 credit as well.

For example my wife and I booked an Omni in Orlando for Jan next year (2 nights). Cash price was $875. It qualifies as the Edit, so that's $250, it qualifies for the $300 annual travel credit, and it qualifies for the limited time IHG/Omni (handful of other hotel) credits. So that's $800 off leaving just $75 left. It ALSO qualified for points boost at a 1.65cpp redemption, instead of paying $75 OOP I redeemed 4688 points to pay for the remaining $75. So consider turning on points boost too and you might get something that is 1.3-2cpp redemption which is nice.

Lots of edit hotels are very very pricey so just be aware of that, but there is a Kimpton in Savannah that would qualify as IHG for that $250 credit as well, so something to look at.

This map shows Edit + the $250 select hotels credit

Use that link to look up edit hotels in blue and then IHG/Omni or other select hotels that qualify for the separate $250 credit in green. The green ones are the ones you can double stack (Edit $250 + Select hotel $250 credit) or triple stack with the $300 general travel credit as well....points boost could also help cover any difference you have leftover at higher than 1cpp redemption.
quote:

So the way it works is you get one $250 credit for the period between January and June and one for the period between July and December. And its when you book not when your actual stay dates are

Thats how AMEX works for their hotel credit; Chase for the Edit is 2 $250 credits on any stays booked within calendar year at any point.

You can book 2 back to back 2 night stays right now for whenever (this year, next year) and get 2 $250 credits (Like a Wed-Fri and Fri-Sun) immediately if you pay now.

Guess Curiel really is gone...

He's a projected 1st rounder by just about everyone out there, he was never coming back

Most projections typically have him in the 20ish range which comes with about a $4M signing bonus give or take a few hundred grand...he has a TON of leverage being a draft eligible sophomore so it wouldnt be surprising if he got more than that as well

You dont pass that up

I've never understood this fascination with post count being tied to reliability. If anything, there are plenty more examples of an inverse relationship there.

Maybe this guy knows the Trosclairs. There are plenty of folks who know them in the southeast part of the state.

And is Brody already committed to Tennessee? I also don't see why anyone would be concerned about UCL surgery and recovery in this day and age.

It wasnt the post count as much as claiming he got offered $1.5M which is outrageous for a small school pitcher who just had UCL surgery back in April But with the post count comment, it is VERY common people just create an alter.troll account to do this type of stuff.

He is trying to avoid having full TJ but no idea how he will even respond next season to the surgery he just had, very very risky take; especially if you blow your whole budget on him
quote:

I’m hearing we offered Brody 750k to come to LSU. 750k is already WAY MORE than I would want to pay for a guy whose arm is pulled pork right now. And apparently Tennessee is DOUBLING that which would be 1.5 million. Do you really want to waste 1.5 million on him? No man. We don’t.

Considering your post history of a grand total of 6 at this point; I'm calling bullshite teams throwing around 7+ figures for a guy like Trosclair coming off a UCL surgery

Teams arent paying guys $1.5M in college baseball, ESPECIALLY a guy from a small school and doesnt even know if he'll be bale to pitch next season

My warranty paid for itself 3x over. Strong disagree depending upon vehicle

IT highly depends on the vehicle and the extended warranty price itself but there's a reason they push these so hard on you - they make money on them WAY more than they dont.

If I was buying german or a vehicle that has spotty or no real reliability history, I might consider an extended warranty, again, for a reasonable price...but if I had an extended warranty on any vehicle I ever had it would have been useless, but my primary vehicles have all been reliable and I buy reliable vehicles for primary transportation. You're going to lose way more than you win with an extended warranty if you are buying reliable transportation.
