I use the flagship fertilizer.

Same here.

I've also used stress blend and double dark, although I normally throw down double dark around end of September - mid October or so.

I've had pretty good success with everything. Give it a shot.
If you're staying at the Hyatt at the MCO airport (what we do every time) and doing Disney, you may still be able to book Disney transportation to the Port and from the Port back to the airport on disembarkation day. You would leave your luggage in your room the morning of embarkation and won't see it again until you get to your room on the ship. Super easy.

You'll also get an earlier boarding time. We are boarding group 3.

Highly recommend.

t's subject to change because I am letting my wife handle the booking for this trip, I usually do all of the planning for our vacations, and she has confirmed with me about this at least 5 times and has yet to book it. But, right now, Fantasy - 7/26 - 7/31

I'll be getting off the Fantasy on 7/22.

Her handling the travel arraignments is also why I am stressing over having enough time because she does not account for things like time to deboard the plane, bring 3 kids through the airport to find the shuttle/transportation, waiting for an available ride, traffic, lines to go through boarding the boat after we've made the kids sit ~2 hours on a plane for, ~1 hour bus ride... She just assumes all will go as scheduled.

I consider myself a pretty seasoned cruiser and have gone out of Port Canaveral MANY times. I've also tried the "fly in the morning of" crowd - never again. Flight was delayed twice, 1 hour bus ride from MCO airport turned into 1.5-2 hours because we ran into a shite ton of traffic (there were like 4 other ships going out of the same port that day), etc. We literally almost missed boarding the ship.

We will be going on a Disney Cruise this summer and plan to fly into Orlando and get to Port Canaveral.

What ship and dates?

Absolutely do this. There’s a Hyatt Regency in the airport and plenty of restaurants to eat at outside of security. You don’t have to leave the airport.

Damn, nice. So like tomorrow morning??

I heard back from the guy at LSUAg center. He and another guy he works with came to the same conclusion.

I figured that was it. I had it in my yard too.

I used high concentrate of glyphosate (2 rounds with surfactant about a week apart) before doing my backyard renovation, which included bringing in dirt, grading, all new sod, etc. and thankfully I haven't seen much of it since.

I've also done sand top dressing since then as well.

I believe it thrives in low / wet areas so eliminating that with my dirt / grading work could also be contributing factor to why it's not really around anymore.

I'm saying all the above to say that if it's feasible, I would still try the glyphosate route and consider building up the low areas? It's worth a shot.

ETA: I have Tifway 419 Bermuda. Also, search on Amazon for the Roundup QuikPRO Herbicide single use packs. Easy to use and it contains like 73% glyphosate. This is what I used (well actually it was a big jug) when I treated my yard before the renovation.

P.S. this for the benefit of readers that have heard about the product on the this board but not used it, particularly when they see the $330 price of that 18 oz bottle….lol.

Good call.

re: Concrete Curb Edging…

Pros? Cons?

PROS: lasts forever and looks good / better than metal edging (IMO) - also metal edging can eventually rust if the thin coating comes off due to weedeating, etc.

CONS: expensive cost per LF and there's still maintenance to do (touch up paint / coating every few years)

I have personally replaced a lot of my metal edging with concrete curb edging around my beds.

Bioadvanced weed preventer has the active ingredient. A bag is like $20. It works fantastic.

I'm not familiar with the bioadvanced product but is it the same concentration of active ingredient as Specticle?

Also, a $20/bag covers how many SF?

Specticle pre-emergent

This is a VERY expensive product but I can't recommend it enough. You'll see a major difference in weed pressure once you start using it. It's amazing shite.

you guys are planting Bermuda lawns then adding chemicals to make it not grow?

It still grows but typically will spread more horizontally than vertically when using PGR. It also helps reduce seed heads (can be unsightly).

How low are you cutting now? How low do you want to cut?

There's no doubt that reel mowed Bermuda is tough to beat from an anesthetic standpoint - just know it takes a lot of time and commitment. And the lower you cut, the more often you have to cut...even when using plant growth regulator (PGR).
