re: Sentance for the murderer of Austin reached, 35 years
Posted by TigerTattle on 6/10/26 at 7:42 am to DocYatesVA
Unless he's a problem inmate, the parole date will likely be a lot sooner than 17.5 years.
Someone familiar with Texas corrections policies will need to chime in, but I believe Karmelo will start out earning 20 days good time for every 30 days served. If at some point he achieves trusty status he'll earn 30 days for every 30 served. There are probably routes he can take that will earn him even more. All he has to do is behave and enroll in some prison programs.
The guilty verdict and sentence (somewhat) might seem like justice to some, but the Metcalf family's battle has only just begun. They'll be attending parole hearings and monitoring appeals for many years to come just to keep their son's murderer behind bars where he belongs. They will have no peace.
Jurors need to be more aware. They walk away thinking, okay, thirty-five years is a just sentence for what KA did. It is not. If they wanted him to serve thirty-five years they should have sentenced him to seventy.

The Fat Electrician did a show on that. It was informative as well as humorous.

The soldiers disappeared Sunday while in the country for AFRICOM’s African Lion exercise at Cap Draa Training Area near the city of Tan Tan.
A U.S. official speaking on condition of anonymity said the service members were involved in a hiking accident while off duty and fell into the ocean.
The service members were reported missing about 9 p.m. Saturday at a cliffside on the training area, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces said on its Facebook page. “U.S., Moroccan and other assets from African Lion immediately initiated coordinated search and rescue operations, including ground, air, and maritime assets,” the AFRICOM statement said.

I'm glad someone else saw that video. I've searched for it since, but he must have taken it down when the SHTF. It was a promo or teaser and he was giddy that he'd been invited to go along with some protesters, said they were going to do something "big."
He claimed he didn't know exactly what the plan was but said again that it was going to be "big" and told his viewers to be sure to watch the show.
He also said the group that invited him had recruited white protesters because they "needed white people for this," and he was very careful to say he was going as a journalist.
He's a terrible liar. His demeanor alone gave him away.

Is he going to get the "white glove" treatment, indicted but released to come and go at his pleasure, live as usual, while the case plays out?
I want to see him and others actually arrested, in cuffs, doing the perp walk, then placed in cells.

They won't need Boasberg. O'Neill has put Tim Walz in charge of the Somali childcare centers auditing.

Great ideas.
The photo ID requirement would need some teeth. There will be stores where the photo isn't checked. Maybe stiff fines for those establishments, followed by denial of reimbursement funds for continued infractions.
I've always leaned toward eliminating the stamps altogether and distributing commodities. MREs would work, too. If they're good enough for our military, they're good enough for able-bodied nonworkers.
Something has to be done about the qualification process, as well. It's rampant. So many women never declare the income of the man in the house; nope it's just them, the poor single mom who lies to qualify for stamps, AFDC, Medicaid, housing/utilities/internet/childcare.
My first job out of high school was in a welfare/food stamp office. Back then, recipients had to prove they had a refrigerator and a cooking device or they were denied and directed to a charity. There were also "Welfare Visitors" who randomly visited the homes of recipients to check compliance, but I don't think that's feasible these days. One, it would take an army of "visitors," and two, it would be too dangerous.

If I had to look at those fat blobs every day I would probably go into preventative anorexia.
That said, lock them up, 1k calorie diet.

The assassin received support at home for the indoctrination he was receiving at school.
Per the Governor: In conversation at their dinner table, a family member and the killer discussed Charlie's upcoming visit and that they disliked Charlie and his messaging. The family member also stated to the killer that Charlie was full of hate and spreading hate.
I would like to know who that family member was. I'm guessing the mom, possibly a sibling or other relative. As a member of law enforcement, if the dad did it he was exceedingly stupid.
