Since you know these details, can you expound on what the Anthony's did with the +$600,000 in donor funds in the last year?

AND, what made them choose a white defense attorney?

What does the dad mean when he says he was told to go get a white attorney? That every black person he asked pushed for a white attorney? They got a court appointed defender because they claimed indigent and couldn’t afford an attorney.
quote:

Like the rest of the people posting here, I did not personally watch the trial and can only go by what has been reported by some presumably reputable journalists. It seems to me that this judge ran a tight ship and he’s to be commended. From what little I know, it looks like the prosecutor did a great job presenting the state’s case. I see only two issues for appeal and they’re both very, very weak: the exclusion of the 3 black women from the jury; and the admission of the autopsy photos. It look like there was a valid non-pretextual reason for excluding the black women jurors so that probably isn’t going anywhere. The autopsy photos probably clinched it for any juror who was having doubts. The question would be whether that evidence’s probative value outweighed its prejudicial effect. Anthony is going to need a very smart appellate counsel to brief and argue that aspect. And, I’m not even sure whether Anthony’s defense attorney made a contemporaneous objection to the medical evidence being introduced in the first place. Basically, that’s all I see for appeal and I don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance of this thing getting reversed.
No one watched the trial, it wasn’t televised. The black’s in the jury pool stated they could not convict a brother, so they were cut. Why would admission of the autopsy photos be inadmissible? The jury had every right to see exactly what that murderer did.

Anthony has claimed indigent again, just like the first time and he will get a court appointed attorney to defend him. His parents pissed away over $650,000 in a year and claimed they couldn’t afford to hire a decent defender.

When considering doing a murder or any other crime in Texas, one might take into consideration many years of long Texas summers in our prison system. The processing unit, where everyone goes to be evaluated for their future in a state funded gated community, The Byrd Unit, has no A/C. Today the heat index was 97° in Huntsville. This is where Anthony will be in the coming days and another 35 years or so probably in a similar unit. Think of this as a reality check
Inmate menu. Daily plates of powdered eggs, a slice of white bread or a slop of oatmeal for breakfast. A slice of bologna, waxy cheese, stale white bread and a shriveled up orange for lunch. Some kind of mystery meat with rice or pasta, white bread for dinner. That boy better pray his parents stock his commissary account so he can load up on the cheapass cup-o-noodles or occasional peanut butter crackers.

Sounds like he’s in a compound where he can go to school and classes, be with people trying to do their time and get out.
He’s at a processing facility, he won’t be there long. He spent last night in isolation at the county jail. Now he’s on to processing and evaluation, then he gets his final destination. The kid is in for a rude, disrespectful and nasty awakening.

I haven't paid attention to the whole thing outside of some snippets here and there, but is it true the family took in like 600k in go fund me donations and then left him with a public defender instead of hiring a defense attorney?
Yes, they claimed indigent and the courts appointed an attorney. The defense presented 4-5 witnesses who were absolutely shredded by the prosecution, it was so bad that the defense rested.

He has no clue what he's about to endure. They placed him isolation away from the general population at the county jail after his sentencing last night. He may have gotten a wink of sleep because he didn't have to worry too much about a big Kunta Kinte coming to break him into culcha of prison night life. Once he's transported to a prison, he'll get the full experience.

How much money do we spend supporting illegal Mexicans? Enough to build a wall? In 2023, the House Budget Committee estimated illegals are a net loss of $68,000 per migrant. There are 10,15 or 20 million already here. Do the math for present and going forward. Stopping the flow of Mexicans means they are paying for the wall, in one way or the other.
This AND remittances of US $$ to Mexico is down over 25% since DJT took office.

Mexico is hurting, they're stuck with their own people + hordes immigrants from other countries stranded that can cross over US borders AND the Mexican banking system is receiving progressively less US dollars in remittances. They are also about to see an influx of Mexican's holding green cards having to return to Mexico to "apply" for green card renewals that may never get approved by US Immigration. :usa:
