30 years later and we still make fun of a mediocre LSU team blowing a 30 point lead against one of Pitino's loaded UK squads. And that was a random midseason Jefferson Pilot fuzzy picture game that nobody cared about.

31 point lead. And it was on ESPN on a Tuesday night for the whole world to see...

it would be completely fine and fun if it was done like 1/10 of the amount that it currently is. it's way fricking overdone

I have said it a million times. My disdain for college marketing and promotions team is extreme. It is often a bunch of 25 year old interns who are dumb as a box of rocks. Many of them just don't get it. And when they find something that might be cool, they absolutely beat it into the ground because they are incapable of original ideas.

When Georgia was batting, they would play the interlude of Ke$ha singing "I hear your heartbeat to the beat of the drums" between pitches, after which the fans would go clap clap.

Cringe is absolutely the proper description. As as normal, the idiot marketing/promotions people who make decisions overplayed the shite out of it. Once an inning would have been more than enough. Sometimes they did it 3 times per AB, which was awful

That's just it...you know you are an a-hole when the Big 10 of all people takes a moral stand against you.

What's crazy is that they have 39 regional appearances alltime.

Yep. Back when the NCAA tournament was literally "regional", St. John's and Maine used to wreck shite in the Northeast and go to Omaha a lot. From 1976-1986, St John's or Maine went to Omaha 8 of the 11 years.

Fun fact: when LSU beat Maine in an elimination game in 1986, it marked LSU's first ever Omaha win and Maine's last appearance there.

I think a lot depends on whether Sorsby is on the field Week 1 or not.

Part of the deal his lawyers made is that he sits out the first 2 games.

I honestly would’ve rather just going to Georgia Tech and losing like this.

Nah. Programs develop by learning through experience. It took LSU 5 trips to Omaha before they won it all for the first time.

Even in defeat, if it happens, this is a good stepping stone for the program

Fall at his house? Unless he fell off a roof I have trouble imagining a 59 year old man dying from falling down in his house.

If you slip in the shower and hit your head in the wrong spot, it is not hard to imagine.

If you walk down stairs and miss a step and take a tumble, it is not hard to imagine.

If you slip on a wet floor and your head hits the floor just the right way, it is not hard to imagine.

Do you need more?
I didn't think the CF mishap for USC was egregious. The result didn't end well, but he was hauling arse trying to make a play.

I think he was playing a little more shallow than he normally would so that he could potentially throw home on a single in front of him.

Also, I think the ball had some slice which was taking it away from him, and it was hit well. His route got a little weird at the end, so maybe he was worried about the wall. And maybe the sun caused him to lose the ball for a second?

COULD he have made the catch? Probably. But I wouldn't say he "should" have made the catch.

I wonder if any viewers enjoy Eduardo Perez as a commentator. I groan every time I tune in to a game and hear his mumblings.

Can't stand him. I have tried, but I just can't do it. Yes, he knows his shite, but he also mixes in dumb, hokey shite also.

Like Auburn's #1 player from Tajikistan comes from a poor family, so he wanted to get as much NIL money as he could and Texas A&M was willing to pay a lot so he went there

I wonder how they got around that? We had an Australian WBB player a couple years ago who actually filed a suit because she couldn't get any NIL, but I dont know what became of it
