re: D-Day Countdown

"Could still hear the bullets snapping over his head" Was talking to an old timer at the gym & he said he went in on the second wave at Omaha Beach. A few things he talked about his landing : Saving Private Ryan was the most realistic war movie he'd ever seen from his D Day experiences. "The only thing missing was the smells of that day, especially the almost overwhelming smell of cordite." He saw the movie by himself as he was not sure how he'd react. When the pinging of bullets hit his ears, he almost peed in his pants as he did that day. As an aside, he was Patton's secondary driver but was not driving the day of Patton's fatal jeep accident. He said the other vehicle that hit Patton's jeep had no reason to be on the highway that day & "everyone was sure it was no accident".No police report ever made it to light.
Mea culpa if true, my bad. I thought I heard that on a podcast.
Tech's softball team is currently facing the same type of.......well deserved ..... threats Their head coach has been accused of violating the transfer portal, to the extent he has had several players from other schools on campus visits while still enrolled in their current school. Several teams are already refusing to play them next season & ongoing. Guessing Tech's A.D. has forgotten Michigan's season long media attacks for Spygate?
"Unlawful"? What law would the Big 12 be breaking? Pretty sure every conference has it own, specific laws against gambling but what legal state law is involved here?
"Not a big deal"? This rule / law goes to the late 1900's, when the Black Sox scandal hit MLB. Every MLB's locker room, the NFL as well, has signs re "NO betting on games". Do you want a player, especially a QB, with a known gambling addiction, handling the ball late in the 4th quarter? This guy's addiction was so strong he was betting on balls & strikes at Red's games.

He's still famous for what he said, would loved to be able to hear his take on Tech, his old school that fired him..
"In other sports"? Per a story on Yahoo Sports, there were several girl's softball teams that backed out of playing them this past next season. There were numerous accusations that Tech's head coach was violating the rules re portal transfers, to the extent players were being invited.....and accepted....to campus while still enrolled in their present schools. Women's basketball has also taken off to new heights the past few seasons.....a coincidence?
"Unemployed"? She's a multi millionaire with over 3 million followers....who obviously feel different than you. Hoping this is a troll.
Curious as to how The Pirate, if still alive & coaching there, would handle this.
Sorry, blank on a name but their main oil money booster has openly bragged, a few yrs ago, that he wouldn't be outbid for any player and issued a warning, at the same press conference that : "I am coming for all your best players." He was in D.C. last week testifying against the regulatory bill that Sen Cruz et al had presented to the Senate.
The Zoo & the casino are really the only 2 true things to do. However, the tailgating, by all teams' fans, is off the rails great. Bring your own booze as some local prices are a bit higher, & for a 2 weeks stay, it can add up. But tailgating makes the trip next to only the games themselves.
Skenes still stands at a ramrod position when the National Anthem is played at Pirates' games & his teammates notice it. Per numerous media stories out of Pittsburg.

The draft was televised & that nite was one of the wildest nites in Thibodaux. Those that were going to go to Nam were all getting wasted & those not going were just as wasted...if not more.
Cinn. has sued him for the NIL money he got from them. As for the judge, Thamel said that he has a history of.......successfully...suing the NCAA.
Not sure of any specific dates but a lot of "slave - type " work was done by the 1000's of Chinese immigrants.

So all those recruiting experts, all who had CJJ's class in the top 5 classes in the country. "fricked up. too?
After years of voting fraud issues, France went to the old, simple way of voting: one person one paper ballot one person monitoring the placement of the paper ballot into a box. As noted in the stats above, voting is complete, ballots counted, election results announced all in one day. Zero voting issues.
Jordan Peterson said this a few years ago: " I do feel that trannies in general have a form of mental issues but as a person, most are ok. It's the tranny activists who are the "most aggressive & politically pushy". Never seen one but there are, supposedly, more on the LSU campus.
He's generally known to be a good guy but he did live, at times, in a teepee in his back yard in L.A.
