I understood this reference (also, never getting over Joely)
It’s a good question…some places don’t inspire wonder like others. Could be that those destinations just weren’t your favorite.

I’ve had “magical” trips with very aggressive itineraries and others that were magical because our plans were very laid back.

Our best trips have included big cities and smaller towns, and I’ll try to stay in smaller local hotels/b&b’s rather than the chain high rises to get closer to locals and traditions.

I’ve been in a little rut with where to plan the next “big” trip, partly out of fear that trip wouldn’t measure up to past experiences or measure up to a return trip somewhere I know we love. (Current travel costs are through the roof and also not helping with getting excited about trips). We’re doing a series of small stateside trips this year and tabling any 7-10 day itineraries for now.

Probably not much help now that I’m reading my response…but allow a variety of low/medium/high intensity travel on a single trip to where you don’t get bored of any one type would be a general rec.

The Lenny Karl run leading up to the second one by Undav was pretty impressive…they’re gonna need a spark plug like him if they hope to go deep into the tourney

We’ve found that almost any non-stop itinerary works great for my 5 & 8 year old and has since they were about 2 or 3. From Nola, that allows Houston, Nashville, Chicago, etc. We even took them to Banff last Christmas, and they did great with the connection through Dallas to Calgary. Doing Chicago again in July.

For flights, make sure the tablets are charged and have their favorite movies/apps downloaded so plane wifi isn’t an issue. They also like choosing stuff on the seat headrest touchscreen when available.

Part of the key especially with my youngest is to prepare what to expect as much as you can. A long flight or car ride is easier when they know what’s coming up. For car rides, they’re good for about 2.5-3 hours between stops whether for lunch or a gas station pit stop. Furthest we’ve driven is about 9 hours to a lake house in Arkansas.

Hope this helps …we love giving them the chance to see new places, so will take them with us as much as we can.

HFK 1-0, great Olise cross

ETA: perhaps too many flares brought by both fan bases

I said before the match that I would certainly take a one-goal difference back to Allianz. It's sure better than having to win by four next week like it was when it was 5-2...I admire the fight to get back in it; some Bayern squads in past years would have folded like a card table and let it get worse.

Olise keeps doing Olise things, and that 60M transfer fee keeps looking like money well spent...but Diaz has been exceptional this year, especially when the squad needs motivation. Endless motor, fearless attacking, and just the perfect first touch on that 4th goal.

PSG proved their worth in a big way today...I'm fully prepared to watch a sixth (6th!) CL semifinal exit at Telemachus & Banks next Wednesday, but we'll see if there's a little more magic left in the Sudkurve to get us to Istanbul...

First Bayern CL semis?

It’s aggregate score between this game and the one next week in Munich, right? So if this holds and PSG wins by 3, Bayern would have to win fame 2 by 4 to advance, correct?

Correct...this one is getting out of hand

Came off the thigh, but I even think it's still a pen. Arms were behind his back and then he moves them when the ball is struck.
