Will be in Europe for 10 days - wife coming with me but I'll have to be off on my own a bit for a conference. We will need to be able to stay in touch but should have wifi most places.
Looking at AT&T (current cell provider) temporary international plans and also looking at talk n text apps for us to use
Recommendations here? Best apps? Let me know if more info is needed - TIA.

Use wifi calling and a text app like groupme which uses internet. Try to only communicate on wifi. I'd still get a temp plan though just in case you need to make a call while out.

Just got back from 10 days in Peru and didn't have a phone plan. They had plenty of wifi around so it wasn't much of a problem. I imagine Europe would be even easier.
That said, WhatsApp seems to be the preferred international message app.
