Weekend trips in and around Oklahoma

Im in enid OK and have one 4 day weekend a month.
I have trips planned for Austin, Fayetville and thinking about Denver, those are pushing the limits of driving( 8-9 Hrs) anything closer that I should see in OK? once football season rolls around I plan on going to games at Stillwater and maybe OU.
My fayetville trip is to see my cousin at school but I may make another trip to Arkansas for the Ozarks or something.
Please help though, Enid is the worst place on earth

Hot Springs in Arkiesaw and Branson MO. I'm in Tulsa and there isn't much out this way unless you are looking to gamble or outdoors stuff.

outdoors stuff.
Like what? I want to take advantage of my situation and do stuff I wont have the chance to do in South LA( hike mountains and white water raft)
Is there any hunting in this area? any game that I can kill here that's not in LA?

Not much that you won't find in LA the only thing I can think of is Snow Geese (not sure if they migrate through LA.) Most of the hunting around is is the usual deer, duck, pheasant, etc. Some good fishing in eastern OK and NW Arkansas.
Missouri is the cave state so if you like spelunking you can find a lot of it there.

You in the wind industry?... Lots of state parks in eastern Oklahoma (Grand Lake), use google. Northwest Arkansas has tons to do. Camping, hiking, fishing and rafting. Look at the Buffalo river area, Beaver lake area, some of the best trout fishing in the country. Fayetteville has Dixon Street, the whole college scene, good places to eat, live music scene.

Very good duck hunting in Oklahoma and not too much pressure.

Larry, KS for a KU bball game and Mass St atmosphere. Kansas City for a Sporting game and BBQ. Tulsa for a great show at Cain's, good music at Guthrie Green, Blue Dome district drinking, maybe a Drillers game, BBQ at Burn Co.

BBQ at Burn Co.
They are a place that cooks X amount and when it's gone they close down and there is a line out the door a lot of time.

Pretty much like many good BBQ places. Just make sure they are open and be there at a good time. 11AM is good.

Great trout fishing in Eastern OK and Western AR. White River has some good outfitters and guide services.

Do not disagree.
I'd go to Colorado as much as possible.
You should definitely go to Stillwater during Homecoming weekend.
Calffry is next weekend at the Tumbleweed if you're into red dirt/country music.
The bicycle culture is booming in NWA. A big road race actually just went by my house about an hour ago. Lots of Mountain biking courses and trails and we've got a big bike trail too.
OKC has some neat things for a weekend too.
Kansas City isn't a bad weekend trip as well.
I've not been to Enid since Champion moved to OKC, how big of a hit has it been to Enid?

I got here in March, i don't know what it was like before but no matter what champion is, it couldn't make this place any better

I've heard Eureka Springs is really nice. You could even tack that on to your Fayetville trip.

I'm sure Kansas City is t too far away. That's definitely a place worth checking out and you can try out the different Famous bbq places and see what you like the best.
There's also a trail in Arkansas-I haven't hiked it, but it's called te eagle rock loop and would be an overnight hike. You might be into that.

The Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa is a darned fine museum, with lots of western (Russell, Remington) and Native American related art and artifacts.
LINK
If in the Tulsa area, check out the Rose District in downtown Broken Arrow (adjacent city). It's the arts and entertainment district. Several bars and restaurants. I had a good meal at the Main Street Tavern. It has good beer selection, and the Tavern chips are great.

OK, no particular order here:
1. Zoo amphitheater is a pretty good outdoor venue, can get hot AF though. In Tulsa, Cain's Ballroom and Brady Theater are both good.
2. Games in Stillwater are fun and much closer to you in Enid. I hear some people like games in Norman but I am not one, obviously.
3. Lakes are big in OK as is "lake culture". What I mean is that people in OK like to spend their leisure weekend time at lakes. Grand, Texoma, Eufala and Tenkiller are popular. That said, most people from there have, or have friends/family with, a cabin and boat.
4. Wichita Mountain Refuge
5. Beavers Bend area of SEOK.
6. Duck hunting is good at lake fort cobb.
7. Western OK has some cool things as well you just have to poke around a bit. Have heard good things about the sand dunes.
8. Buffalo River in Arkansas - I always liked the Ponca AR area.
9. Colorado.
10. Summer rafting the Illinois River is fun, find a group of people and do it big.
11. Eichen's chicken in Okarche, oldest bar in the state.
12. Okie Noodling Festival in Pauls Valley every summer.

I don't get this, my nephew has a boat and a place on Tenkiller and prefers that to any beach. I get it for weekends, but they plan their whole life around going to the lake in the summer. With all the algae and e.coli warning I just don't get the appeal.
