Weekend camping spot close to NO

Thinking of taking a weekend camping trip this fall with my BIL. We'll have four kids with us, ages 4-7. What are some good spots fairly close to New Orleans, thinking no more than a 6 hour drive? Not looking for cabins, bringing our tents.

Used to go there all the time as a kid, but I haven't been there in years. Loved that place.

I would go to the somewhat new Bogue Chitto state park. It's got a really nice hiking trail and is near the river in case you all want to do some fishing.
Can't remember the name of the park up in Mississippi about 20 miles northwest of Mccomb. Just know it's near Clear Springs and it had some nice camping and a good hiking trail as well.
Depending on the weather, also consider camping in the Dessoto National Forrest. Nice trail and you could take one day and get the canoe outfitter to bring ya'll upriver and you all could float back down to your camp site.

Could be clear springs recreational area? We go every year for Thanksgiving...love that place.
Also Percy Quinn as mentioned, I believe the lake will be open again for fishing at the end of this year or beginning of next year
