Going on a cruise from Barcelona to Venice in May, has anyone used Tours by Locals instead of the excursion offered by the cruise line? TIA

Never used them before but I just booked 2 tours with them for Florence/Siena later this month. I emailed back and forth with the guide quite a bit and feel comfortable spending the day with her.

We did a good tour by Devour tours in San Sebastián and in Madrid. Great experience. I think They have them in Barcelona and in Rome also.

In Barcelona . . . Book with Anna P. for Gaudi tour. She is wonderful. We took Sagrada Familia and Park Guell with her.
Stay away from Marcela G. Took food tour with her and it was abominable.
Side note on self tours: Casa Mila (La Pedrera) and Palau de la Música Catalana are fabulous self tours. Get the audio guide at Casa Mila. Take the guided tour at Palau de la Música Catalana. Both are walking distance from town center if you are staying there. We stayed at Renaissance City Center.

PS: I've successfully used Tours by Locals in other European destinations. If you find yourself in St. Petersburg, Russia, I highly recommended Irina K..

I booked through them this past summer when we were in Quebec City. Guide was supposed to meet us at our hotel at 10. Never showed and never answered the phone.
I will say that they processed my refund quickly.

Had this in Oxford UK, and she was very nice.
OT 6.0, irl 7.25 because smart, good teeth (!), and her accent.
Knew where to go to drink at 2:30 pm with locals.
