My 12 year old son is at a competition in Knoxville next week. The competition is at UT, but we are staying of site. What are somethings to do with kids in case we get bored between competitions?

The Knoxville Zoo is excellent, but it takes a full day to experience it.

Since Competition is at UT, you should eat at Calhoun's on the River. Good BBQ, on an excellent venue.

Ijams Nature Center is just South of Knoxville. Nice walking trail and education center, and it is free.

Go to market square to eat. It's walking distance from campus.

If you want BBQ go to Dead End on Sutherland Ave, not Calhouns.

We don't have many activities unless there is a concert. You'll just need to eat...

You go to Calhoun's for the scenery. If you want the best BBQ, then Dead End or Sweat P's.

If you are looking for good food, go past Market Square to Gay Street and hit Knox Mason (on one end) or The Bistro at the Bijou.
