In November, my wife and I will be flying into Phoenix and renting a car. We have stops planned in Sedona, GC, Page, Bryce Canyon and Zion. I have no friends that have ever made this trip, and would love anyone's insight on what to do and/or see. I have a solid list, but am looking to narrow it down to the consensus favorites.

TIA

I think you mean southwest

I started this thread about a month ago, there’s some pretty good information in there

I am going next week. We decided on Bryce Canyon and Zion. I will probably post a review and pics when I get back.

Do you plan to hike much or mostly just drive and look? How long will you be there?

We were at Zion and Bryce in June. About 1/2 the stops were closed in Zion, who knows about November.

At Bryce definitely walk down into the amphitheater at either Sunset or Sunrise point and walk among the Hoodoos to the other point. Sunrise, Sunset and the amphitheater are behind the lodge. You can also walk father south among the Hoodoos but I'm not sure how you exit.

The last morning we were at Bryce we walked down at Sunset Point using the Two Bridges Tail and then came back up to the same point using the Navajo Trail; through the area known as Wall Street. It took us about an hour.

You can also walk along the rim and that total distance is over 20 miles I think; that's not a flat trail.

From Bryce Point it is ~ 3 miles to Sunrise Point on the rim trail.

At Zion we just walked along the river walk, a mile, to the river where you enter to hike to the Narrows, and we hiked to lower and middle Emerald lakes. We were not up for the Narrows or Angel Landings but wish we would have done the Watchman Trail, it is near the visitor center.

Do the Kolob Canyons Road drive and do the Timber Creek Trail at the end of the road. KCR road is away from the main part of the park off of I-15.

Drive the Kolob Terrace (also called Resevoir) Road, you turn at Virgin, UT which is west of Springdale. You can drive to the reservoir and turn around. If you are really adventurous try and get a permit for The Subway, the trailhead is off of that road. It is a 5 to 9 hour hike.

The horse rides at Bryce looked like fun but I doubt if they are available in November.

Cedar Breaks National Monument is between Bryce and Zion and a little out of the way but worth it. There are several ways to get to Zion from Bryce. One route takes you by/near Cedar Breaks and then you can get on I-15 and drive by Kolob Canyon Drive on the way to the west side of Zion.

Download the official National Park Service app, works best on an Ipad rather than a phone. It has good maps of trails, etc.

We have been to GC and Sedona but it has been a while. Have not been to Page but friends have and they all recommend taking the boat ride on Lake Powell.
