We are taking my kid on a tour of the University there. We will be there from late Friday to Monday afternoon. Saturday will be an all day tour, but we will have all day Sunday and Monday morning to do and see some things. We will be staying on the east side of town close to the University.

What are the things we should see and do with our day and a half? We won't have a car and will be using Uber or walking.

Thanks,

There's a light rail in Salt Lake.

Probably the cleanest city I've visited. Don't know much about the city.

I know they have an In n Out there.

Really pretty western town. Lots to do if you like skiing and the outdoors.

Go to Temple Square (I'm going to assume you aren't LDS) and go the Visitor's Center and the Family History Center (Genelogical Library).

If your kid will be at the U of U, they'll need to have a basic knowledge about the Mormon Church.

SLC is a cool place, it'd be a good spot for going to college.

Like some have said, we have Trax which is a rail and easy to use. it will take you downtown. The temple is a sight to see. If you like shopping, you have City Creek (fancier) and the Gateway which is an outdoor mall. Red Butte gardens is on campus and nice this time of year with the fall. Library on campus is pretty awesome. I have heard the zoo is really good but have not been. Tracy aviary is downtown if you like birds. its tough since yall won't have a car.

Food downtown that i would recommend is Moochies for philly cheesesteak or meatball subs. Squatters is a bar with good food and local brew. Taqueria 27 is good Mexican. Gracies is another bar with great nachos and local beer.

hope this helps or if you have any questions, i'd be happy to try and answer them.

Be sure to dress for this. It is much cooler than the valley.

Looks like there's a bus that goes from Salt Lake to Park City. Would it be worth a day trip on Sunday to go up there and walk around? Anything in particular to see and do there?

Not sure how much time you can kill there, but it's only a 30 minute drive. Lots of shopping and restaurants on Main St. We drove up just for the views and to grab dinner and weren't disappointed.
