Recommend a beach resort somewhere in Florida

5 year wedding anniversary for the wife and I is in June. We were going to go back to Punta Cana where we honeymooned but instead decided to go to Cabo in September with a group to do some fishing and whatnot.
For the anniversary weekend I'd like to do a long weekend in Florida. I lived in Ft.Myers for 10 years and my brother lives in Ft.Lauderdale so I am familiar with those areas but I am kind of looking for something hidden/"best kept secret", etc
what ya got?

The Beach Club on Lido Key via The Ritz Carlton-Sarasota is definitely worth a visit.
