Spent two days here and it was enough, the day trips are what make it worth it. The day trips were fantastic, but Phuket is very large and it can be time consuming to travel with the insane traffic.

Hotel: Westin Siraybay GREAT hotel, they were very accommodating, upgraded me to a two floor suite and free wifi in the room when they were 1/2 hour late on having the room ready. Top notch accommodations, amenities, and staff.

Notes:

- Currency is mostly the Baht, some will take dollars and higher end places will take credit cards, but transportation, local shopping, and most other things you will need Baht. ATM's are the best place to get it if you don't have any, other places will kill you on the rate or fees.

- Transportation, If you are thinking about renting a car DON'T, you cannot fathom the insanity that is Thailand driving, use Tuk Tuks for short distances they are usually half the price of a taxi and twice the fun. Always negotiate a price upfront.

They water day trips include James Bond Island, and the beach where The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed as well as many other island locals. Skip James Bond Island. Phi Phi "PP" is the best trip.

- Power, bring a converter it's all 220, your laptop battery will likely only need an adapter. I brought one converter and wish I had two.

All pics and videos can be found here : LINK

That little French chick in The Beach was so fine.

I wanted to bone her like no man has ever wanted to bone before.

Never did though. fml

It was the same at the hotel in Cambodia, even the staff talked bad about them.

Bangkok was the loudest and dirtiest fricking city I've ever been to.

Pattaya is geared around the sex trade, but Bangkok has plenty of it too.

It was recommended that I skip Bangkok and mostly I agree but there are reasons to come for 2-3 days. Bangkok is HUGE, dirty, and loud but it's also an experience like none that I have ever seen because of the craziness that is daily life here.

I hear ya. If you've made it that far around the world, it must be seen. Sort of a Mardi Gras on Bourbon St. thing.

I suppose cities aren't really my cup of tea anyway.

I can see the attraction and value.

Someone on the board reported getting some quality tailor-made suits on the cheap in the "city of squalor"

Not me this is my first trip here, you can't walk 500 feet without seeing a tailor and massage parlor. Others have posted about it.
