Planning a trip for the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Wanted to see if any Travel Boarders had advice on areas to stay, things to do, etc. The tournament is the first weekend of February (3-5).
Plan is to land in early Friday morning, go to the tournament Saturday and Sunday. Definitely need a bar for Sunday Night's Superbowl.
As always, I appreciate the help!

love the downtown Scottsdale area. It has some great restaurants and bars
Old Town Tortilla Factory has a great patio
Citizen Public House is an upscale gastropub
Rehab Burger has some amazing burgers
Tons to do and a great walking city. Cant speak on the resorts as we always rent a house

Go to the Bird's Nest. It's the massive party tent right outside the entrance to the Phoenix Open. They have concerts each night there. I know Blink 182 is one of the bands performing.
I would try to stay near Old Town Scottsdale(their downtown area). Tons of bars/restaurants there. Very easy to bar hop as well. Bring cash for the golf cart taxis in Old Town.

I am staying at the Fairmont in a week from now. I am a complete Uber newbie but will it be easy to Uber around that area, specifically on a Sunday morning?

Should be easy. Download Lyft as well. Between Lyft and Uber you should be fine.

Cool. Thanks for the info.
Been out there before 2 years ago and stayed at the Marriot in Desert Ridge but only left the resort once and that was with a group. Getting there ahead of our conference to play golf an extra day and looking forward to going out and seeing some of Scottsdale.

Barret Jackson auto auction starts up that weekend as well.
No auctions actually start that weekend(not until January 16)....but all the cars are there so you can walk all the tents and check out all the cars.
