Thinking about going to San Diego in May and maybe taking the train to L.A. for a day or two. Anyone ever take the pacific Surfliner?
It looks like it goes right up the coast. Looks pretty cool.

I used to take it between LA and Santa Barbara on a regular basis. It's slow, especially compared to taking the train on the East Coast, but is comfortable and easy.

A lot of people use it, it's a great scenic ride as well.
Only problem going from SD to LA is once you get in LA you will probably need a rental car to get around. LA is really spread out.
If you were going from LA to SD you could manage SD without a rental vehicle.
