Newport Beach & Laguna beach Area hotel?

Looking at Terranea, pelican hill and Montage for a quick family get away in December. Any thoughts as to the three properties over another. Fwiw Montage is significantly more expensive.

If you are visiting that area with the family I would suggest you spend as little time at the hotel as possible.

Stayed at the Montage...very nice. Not cheap but was worth it

Terranea is in Palos Verdes. Not really that close to Newport or Laguna at all, but I've heard it's very nice.

Stayed at the Montage six-seven years ago. It is nice and private.

My buddy's sister works at the Ritz in Laguna Niguel... rates are high tho.

Cant go wrong with either, but PH might be most family friendly. Ritz and Mintage are more quiet/wanna get away scene.
