It is a great town. Not sure you could spend a whole week just there, but you could stay there and still do two or three little side excursions.

Last time we were there (March 2015) we stayed at the Hampton Inn at Korean Veterans Blvd and 4th Avenue South. We were a block, maybe two blocks off Broadway and could walk to all of the major attractions down there.

In Nashville you have the Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, George Jones Museum and Ryman - all downtown and within walking distance.

You can see a live performance of the Orpy out at the new Opry house off Briley Parkway. The Partheon out near Vandy is a recreation of the one in Athens, and houses an art museum below it.

Andre Jackson's home, The Hermitage, is about 10 miles east of downtown.

If you like history, a day trip to Franklin will allow you to visit the place where Hood allowed the Confederate Army of Tennessee to be slaughtered. You can also go to Murfreesboro and the Stones River battlefield.

Lynchburg and the Jack Daniels distillery is about 90 minutes south of Nashville.

I would concur. There is a lot to do nearby...I would recommend taking a little time to drive down some of the Natchez Trace.
