Hey y’all! Going to Napa at the end of August. Any suggestings on places to stay, where to eat, what wineries to visit, or anything else that’s a must see?

What are some of your preferred styles of wine?

I'm a big proponent of staying in Yountville, though I've considered doing St. Helena next time.

All reds are a must! I’ve heard good things about Yountville. Any places you recommend staying there?

Sterling is a must just for the view... The winery sits on top of a hill that overlooks the valley.

Napa Valley is a big place.

You might get better information if you tell us your likes and dislikes in the world of wine.

You'll be there during the harvest season, which is going to be really pricey. What's your nightly budget for lodging?

ETA:
It’s going to be really crowded during harvest. Bumper to bumper traffic. I’m sure it will be a neat time to go, but I wouldn’t say August will be a relaxing time to go. In what part of the month is your trip? Don’t want to discourage, just letting you know what to expect in case you weren’t aware.

I’m looking at a 2019 trip there. When does the harvest start? It sounds like I want to avoid it. We are considering late July.

Harvest begins in early August, typically.

ETA: If possible, allot some time for Sonoma as well. Both great but I prefer a number of things about Sonoma.

Harvest may begin in August. Harvest season is August through October. Depends on the weather they have this summer and what they're picking.
