Anyone have feedback about this exhibit or how long it would take?
Im trying to plan a date night/day and need to know if it's worth the effort.

If that is like the one in New Orleans in the 1980s then yes. Go.

Don't know about the time, but you SHOULD DEF go.
Houston has great museums and I've never been disappointed with any exhibit

He was buried with a donkey. He’s my favorite honkey.

I think the big difference is that the 1980s exhibition contained real artifacts from the British Museum. This installation is all replicas.
The installation is supposed to be an immersive experience that takes you with Carter on the dig and into the burial chamber.
From the exhibit curation company's website:

The first area of the two-part exhibition transports visitors back in time, thousands of years to the time of King Tutankhamun. Guests are presented with a wealth of information about the wider culture of ancient Egypt, and offered fascinating insights into the Egyptians’ belief in the afterlife, and their efforts to conquer death. Then, visitors follow the sensational and gripping story of Howard Carter as he worked to uncover the lost tomb of King Tutankhamun. A story of tenacity, politics, passion, and fate—visitors will experience for themselves the challenges and triumphs of one of history’s most significant archaeological discoveries.
The exhibition culminates in a thrillingly unique experience: the chance to step inside a fully three-dimensional, astonishingly accurate recreation of the excavation site, the legendary tomb, and its treasures exactly as they were at the moment of their discovery. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a historic scene only ever witnessed by Howard Carter and a handful of others.
Using painstakingly, scientifically produced replicas created by expert Egyptian craftsmen in consultation with renowned Egyptologists, Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures allows the public to enjoy the magnificent splendor of these priceless Egyptian treasures without ever harming the fragile, sensitive originals – which are only exhibited separately in a carefully controlled museum setting.

Working on ceilings in the building, when it was in N. O., arrived at 6:30AM, walked around by myself until it opened.

Same exhibit was recently in New Orleans and I saw it. It was pretty cool and I enjoyed it. But I'd have been disappointed if I'd driven hours to see it, and it was nothing like the 80s exhibit in terms of scope. If you are in Houston anyway, see it. I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

It's worth the $10 add on if you are already checking out the museum. I don't know that I would go just for it.
