Been once before...now staying for a few months. I'm looking to do some shore fishing, any suggestions?

Any regionally worth checking out, or should I just fish and drink the entire time?

My favorite beach there was playa maderas - $1 Tonas on the beach and it is pretty isolated and not crowded. Also, head to Rivas and catch a ferry, spend 2/4 days on Isla de Ometepe - like going back in time. Hike a volcano or two, bike around, go to ojo de agua (great mineral pool) or just chill. Recommend xalli beach hotel (great food too) although for the island it is a bit more expensive than other options, granted only ~$60us. You can also catch a ferry from there to Granada if you are interested in visiting there. Hope your Spanish is good.

Costa Rica also hasany options. Taxi to penas Blanca's border crossing will be about 20-25$US and there are buses that depart from there to many destinations in CR, Liberia being a major "hub" w the airport there. I you've got the time and $ I'd recommend the Pacuare Lodge in CR. Might also check are all region, much different from SJDS Nica.

Thanks! Just seeing your post now.

I've been here over a week and it's been great. I've more or less found out and/or received most of the same advice from other travelers here. I'll stay here another month and then likely move to Little Corn Island for the next month.

I probably wont do CR since I went there last year. Lots to do here in Nica... I bought a motorbike already, so I have my own transportation.

San Juan Del Sur is great for partying, but you are right, Maderas and the other beaches are great too. I haven't made it to Ometepe yet, though I plan to soon.

Thats pretty cool to move there on a whim. How much is rent?

My wife has a friend from Corn Island. She's cooler than the other side if a pillow.
