I have a work conference in Vegas around late March of next year. The conference will wrap up on a Wednesday. I'm planning on renting a car and spending the extended weekend camping/hiking within the region. What are yall's favorite spots? It's my first time to the region and want to see some of the main points of interest.
Flying back out of either Vegas, LA, San Diego, San Fran is not an issue to me.

The only information I can give you is that Yosemite is out of the question in March. I haven't visited these particular parks in your title but I know enough to realize that march is too soon in the season to visit Yosemite, much less camp. Roads, if not closed, are certainly going to be impassible due to the snow load.
Just go to Death Valley. It's closest to Vegas and the winter/early spring months are the best time of year to visit.

Yeah Death Valley and Joshua tree are best to visit at that time. You can go to Yosemite but if it's an average snow year, you will be doing stuff like cross country skiing.
I haven't been to Joshua tree, but have been to Death Valley.. Death Valley is a very awesome place. You can see giant sand dunes, the bad water basin, a huge crater, and if you want to go up in the mountains you can do that too.

I would drive the other way and spend some time in Zion and Bryce.

I love it out there. Yosemite is out. Mojave National Preserve is neat, but it's a good drive-through kind of deal. Joshua Tree is gorgeous, but I'd do a few days in Death Valley

I was planning a Utah trip visiting the Mighty 5 over a 10 days in late Spring before I even knew about this trip. So i'll be out West twice in 3 months. This one is on company dime though!
