We plan to see Dublin, Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Moher, and the Rock of Cashel. Any other suggestions? We are traveling with a 18 month old.

Northern Ireland is awesome. Belfast was my favorite city. Lots to see and do. On the north coast you have Bushmill's Distillery, Dunluce Castle, Giants Causeway, and Carrick-a-rede rope bridge all within 5 minutes of each other.

Also Galway. The drive from the Cliffs to Galway has a lot of beautiful scenery (the Burren) and little towns.

Galway.

So how did I mess this up - spent 10 days or so in Ireland (loved it). However our biggest disappointment was Galway - it had so much hype but didn't do it for us. I think we missed something there.

Cliffs of Moher - Do not go straight there. Park in Doolin and there is a trail that walks the waters edge to the cliffs - spectacular (although I take it back, 18 month old might not work).

The ring is nice but a lot of dead riding time. Be sure to drive out the Dingle peninsula and go thru Connor pass. You gotta go to Blarney Castle and kiss the stone. Cobh is an awesome small town below Cork also.

And get use to looking at fricking sheep

Galway town is probably skipworthy, but the area around Galway is beautiful.

Aran islands were worth the trip. Never seen anything like it.

Ring of Kerry is a lot of driving but absolutely breathtaking. We stayed a few nights in different towns.

As mentioned above, Conner pass is amaze balls.

An area that I wasn't anticipating liking as much as I did was Killarney/kenmare and Killarney park. Saw cool arse red deer and the park is gorgeous with a gazillion year old abbey and waterfalls, awesome trails, etc.

Best trip I've had is flying into Dublin and staying 2-3 nights then renting a car and heading south to Kilkenny, Cork, Waterford, etc. and then up to Shannon to stay at the Dromboland (spelling?) Castle which was awesome. Then flew out of Shannon back to Houston.

This was with my parents too and it was a blast.

Newgrange is awesome. North of Dublin heading towards Northern Ireland.

Glendaloch is worth a visit too.

Great suggestions here, these other posters are reading my mind.

Clonmacnoise, Rings of Kerry & Derry, Aran Islands, Skellig Michael, Kinsale, Belfast, Devil's Causeway area, Cobh, the Burren area is wonderful.

In Dublin, make sure you go to Kilmainham Jail & the General Post Office and Dublin Castle in addition to Trinity (Book of Kells) and Temple St. and the Museum of History.

I love Ireland, in Cashel, I parked the car and we were walking past a street musician (saxophone) who saw my LSU shirt and stopped mid-song and started playing "Blue Monday" by Fats. He got a tip.
