I'm thinking about staying at the Inn on St. Ann for a 3 day weekend. It's on St. Ann between N. Rampart and Burgundy.

Is this a good hotel and is this part of the French Quarter relatively safe? I haven't really spent much time in New Orleans the last ten years, but I seem to remember North Rampart as an area to stay away from.

Any other hotel recommendations for a long weekend?

Thanks!

I'm sure you found this place for really cheap on hotels.com or something like that. I would stay away from any place on Rampart. The hotel will be horrible like the area, far end on the Quarter near the Iberville Projects and Treme. A lot of sketch walks up Rampart at night.

If you can afford it I recommend the Saint hotel or the Ace.

while I have heard nothing negative about this particular hotel, it is too close to the basin street crowd for me...I would stay somewhere else.

if you want a boutique-type hotel, try something like the hotel Mazarin...

Hotel Mazarin is the best kept secret in New Orleans in regards to hotels.
