Help me build a Virgin Islands Trip-US or BVI

4 adults going somewhere in June. I just have no idea where.
Things we value:
1. We want a little adventure. A little slow paced exploring/sight seeing/hiking/snorkeling bike riding...
2. I'd really like to fish, maybe a couple half days-dont really have a preference for species. Could be with a captain on a boat, but wouldnt even mind wading around as long as it was somewhat productive. I just have to have something to do for at least the first half of the day.
3. Obviously good food.
4. I am not interested in tearing the club up and i am not interested in huge crowds of cruise ship tourists
5. I dont want to spend all damn day getting there. Will be flying out of atlanta.
6. I assume the beaches are nearly pristine at most of the islands.
7. Open to resorts, hotels, private houses/vrbo's....just want something quiet

Charter a catamaran with captain and crew.

It has been years since I've been there, but when I was there, there were licensed taxi's and plenty of non-licensed ones. Doesn't look like the club thing is of interest, but if you do go to one late and are staying on the other side of the island, your only option could be a non-licensed one (not recommended).

This X1000. There's no better way to see the BVI.

That sounds awesome.
Is there a specific one that yall've had experience with that you would recommend?

Is it bad that I see those photos on their website and I know exactly where they are?

My family is planning a trip for next summer. We've been to St. John a few times. We're going to test out the chartered catamaran for 3 nights to see if we like it, then stay at a house on St. John for a week. If all goes well, we'll look at doing a full week BVI catamaran.
Hopefully, the BVIs will be open then.

While the chartered catamarans look awesome....am i searching wrong or are those significantly more expensive than a traditional resort/house/villa....

What's that run for a week and how many cabins are there? Drinks/food included?
Sorry I'll look more closely later but on the road and curious.

I have only been to the USVI so I cannot speak to the BVI's but I will tell you what I know about St. John.
1. Beaches on St. John will provide you with plenty of snorkeling opportunities and they have trails of all difficulties on the island. Maho Bay is my favorite for snorkeling.
2. We went on a 6 hour charter fishing trip with Just Fish charters and it was a blast. We caught more tuna than we knew what to do with. I have not a single bad thing to say about the crew or our experience fishing.
3. Food is good no matter where you go. Wife and I went to 1864 on St. John and it was delicious. Greengos is a good Mexican restaurant as well. Colombo's smoothies is a good breakfast spot and they serve a lot more than smoothies.
4. St. John does not have a huge port so I do not think they get the cruise ships which aren't even running right now. But the USVIs are busier due to the restrictions on the BVIs. Not sure what those are like now.
5. Flight won't be long to St. Thomas if you choose USVI. You will have to take a ferry to St. John from St. Thomas but that's only about 30 minutes. It's gonna take a while to get there on your first day so just prepare for that.
6. We hit 5 beaches on St. John in June and they were all great. Trunk Bay is prettiest in my opinion but you cannot go wrong with any beach you choose to visit on the island.
7. We stayed at a private house and loved it. We are not big resort/all inclusive people. Only downfall is the grocery shopping which will be shockingly expensive compared to anywhere in the continental US.
Hope this helps and I'll definitely answer any more question you have if I can. You'll enjoy anywhere you go in the Virgin Islands

It was about 28k for the week
4 couples and 4 bedrooms, each had its own bathroom
Food and drinks included and Amanda does a great job with the meals
ETA: Dillon makes great drinks too
We brought a few cases of wine based on our preferences but that’s not necessary
20% tip, flights, night on the islands before/after were additional expenses

Depends on the time of year. In high season the cats are a lot more expensive. If you're willing to go June/July they cost a lot less.

The cost vary greatly. Different seasons and different levels of boats, amenities. I would say the boats are probably a minimum 6-8k more than renting a house on St. John.

The Moorings Yacht Charter
This is a little more bare bones option for a charter boat. You can hire a skipper but the meals and drinks would be on you.

AFAIK drinks are ALWAYS on the passengers with Moorings unless they have some pricing tier that I'm unaware of.
They do offer a provisioning service but the passengers bear the cost.

I thought bvi was closed or accessing their waters still ok?
Posted on 8/6/21 at 7:48 pm to Fusaichi Pegasus
They opened and now they’re requiring quarantine again. It’s a waiting game at this point.

No crossing on a private vessel as of a couple weeks ago. Ferry or flights are open
