Have you ever crossed the Equator?

Met a couple from Cape Town, South Africa on my last trip and it sounds like a great visit. My next two trips are bucket list trips but I seriously want to visit the southern hemisphere.

I stood with a foot on each side of the Equator when I was in Uganda. It was pretty cool. Got to camp and raft the Nile River the last couple of days of the trip. It was an incredible experience.

Yup. Australia.
Was walking back from a restaurant one evening and looked up into a clear, starry sky. I started looking for my familiar constellations, but couldn't find any of them. That's when it really hit me that I was on THE OTHER frickING SIDE OF THE WORLD. It was pretty mind blowing. Instead of Ursa Major and Ursa Minor, I saw the Southern Cross.

Yeah, went to Sydney on R&R when I was in the Nam. Had to wait for 8 months to get it but it was worth the wait. Got to Sydney on the 4th of July and it got to 33 degrees that night. Maybe another trip on the bucket list to down under for me and the wife but probably heading to Europe after a trip to Hawaii.

Went through S. America down to Ushuaia. Usuaia is a lot like Alaska, just on the other hemisphere.

We rode across it in Kenya. We asked our driver to stop so we could take a picture at the equator sign.
He said we didn't have enough time to stop

Crossed in Uganda but a back road so we didn't know the spot. Crossed it in western Kenya in the midst of an incredible storm. Pulled over at the sign to wait it out.

Many times... in 2005 I became an emerald shellback (crossed the equator at the prime meridian).

I have not yet crossed the Equator. I've been close.
Ecuador (specifically the Galapagos Islands) are on my bucket list.

To answer the OP, yes. On separate trips I've been to South Africa, Australia, Zambia, Malawi and Antarctica.
