How long was your Japan trip? I'm going late February or early March. I'm planning on staying at least 3 weeks.
I would advise at least three weeks if you want to bounce around. We did Tokyo, Nikko, Hakone, Kyoto, Koyasan (one night), Himeji (day trip), Nara (one night), and Kanazawa, then back to Tokyo to fly out. I think we had right at three weeks, and while it wasn’t an uncomfortable pace, I could have used another week to get in some more that we missed.

Spending 8 days in Belgium planning to hit Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, and Antwerp. Setting up shop in Ghent, getting the Go Pass 10 and taking day trips on the train from there. Any must see or off the beaten path activities, bars, and restaurants would be much appreciated. You can reach me at alphadawg2016@gmail.com

One of my favorite places is St. Martin in the French west Indies. Half the Island is owned by the French and the other half is owned by the Dutch.
We always stay on the French Side at Orient beach.
We rent a car and can travel through all the great spots located on the Island.
Also your so near St. Barts, we take a quick nice ferry ride that's about 40 minutes across the ocean to visit St Barts for the day.
You get to enjoy the French culture and the Dutch area at the same time. The beaches are crazy beautiful.
