You may have pre-clearance customs in Canada on the way back instead of once you get back to the US. We did this in February, so you'd want to be there early anyways. And I'm pretty sure TSA precheck is US only. Global Entry is international.

My ticket to come back from Trinidad said TSA pre. And they have no such thing there and it was of no benefit. When we hit Miami we had to go through US security so my TSA pre on the next flight did help with that.
