I'm going to Paris in the fall, staying at Hilton Paris opera which I booked through Expedia long story short our flight lands at 6:10 am, after talking through online chat with Hilton they said since I booked through 3rd party site they can't guarantee any requests. Will it be an issue trying to check in early... guess this is what I get for not booking directly, but needed up being a better deal. Also what the hell will I do with all our shite if we can't TIA

I book third party often and it usually hasn't been a problem. Only time I can recall was in San Jose, CA and the guy was a real dick about it. Said there were no rooms ready. I sat there for hours (was stuck with my stuff and waiting on co-workers) and watched him check every other person in before me.

Depends on the hotel's occupancy. I booked the Crowne Plaza in Amsterdam through hotels.com and was given a room at 8 am. I've booked rooms direct and had to wait.

They will hold it for you.

Yeah I was hoping they would just put our luggage in storage like I've done at other places thanks

Certainly helps if you have status... but cities like that know people get in at odd times. Honestly just depends on occupancy.

I know it's too late but why book a Hilton through Expedia? Hilton has a fine reservation system and they don't require payment up front like Expedia.

Idk at the time it was easier and cheaper, looking back at it should've done a better job because now I can't put this stay on my hilton honor rewards account that I've never used

They'll hold your luggage don't worry. By booking through expedia you basically are treated as the lowest preference, so they aren't going to give you any perks until they know no one else needs the same service. But holding bags is not a limited type of thing so don't worry about that.

Frankly, unless you have something professional to get to then you don't want to check into your room early and risk the urge to take a nap. Push yourself that first day and don't go to bed until at least 9pm

I book everything though hotels.com, because I accrue free nights faster regardless of where I stay. It's hard to stick with a brand most times. It actually shows up in their system as Expedia.
