Would certainly make for an attractive value. One would think this would include some massive suites.

Honestly, I thought they would tear down the other Garden Wing and build another Bay Lake. I have heard the land isn't stable enough to support such a structure but figured Disney would dump the money in to build it up.

You would think after recent events they would steer clear of beach themes. I bet some tree houses would sell about right now

When you heard Disney is doing something, it's like 5+ years in the making. Not to sound harsh but that one incident wouldn't scrap that many years of work.

They recently did a refurb on the Cabins at Ft Wilderness and they are pretty gangsta.

They have tree houses at Saratoga Springs. They're legit.

A pedestrian bridge from the front of the resort and a 2nd gateway in the world showcase would be epic. They could add so much value to this and the Animal Kingdom lodge if gave some sort of express transportation to the closest parks. If I could take a tram to the front of Caribbean Beach and just walk to Epcot it would carry some serious consideration.

We are staying at the Caribbean Beach in January. First time at this resort. Is it feasible to walk from the resort to Epcot now?

Quick thread high jack question: Do you know when they release what rides will be closed in January for maintenance?

The biggest thing I see DVC members complaining about is that it's not a Deluxe resort. Many are speculating that DVC is going to start building out a second tier timeshare.

I don't think that's what this is not do I have a problem with the location. Boardwalk and Beach club need some help. They are two of the toughest hotels to book due to their location to Epcot which is the favorite park for the majority of DVC owners especially as they age and retire.

No. Just stick to the bus or your car.

I think they come out as they are announced.

I agree. Table Service dining is severely lacking. I'm thinking of things they can do to add value. Bigger rooms, family suites, something.

Hopefully, they build more than just rooms to justify it.

Use THIS to monitor the refurbishment schedule at WDW. I've been in January many times...great time of year to go. I will say that Splash Mountain typically goes down in January for its annual refurbishment. There's usually one or 2 others down as well...but nothing massive. Disney management does a good job of spreading out the refurbs across the calendar.

Back to the subject at hand, I'm more than likely going to be looking to get into DVC next year some time (late summer / early fall). I know that this complex is still a few years away from even being up for sale, but I'm not sure why someone would buy there...other than there isn't anything available anywhere else. I'm hoping the new WL villas won't be of a ridiculous price when I'm ready to get in. We love WL and having that as a home resort would be favorable for my wife and I.

Why would you buy direct anyway? Have you ever stayed there?

Yes, I've stayed there multiple times. Buying direct gives you acces to all the Disney perks that you don't get buying resale. So, buy in through Disney at a lower point # and then supplement that with resale points. It's a pretty common tactic.

I'm considering jumping in too at 150 pts then buying another 50 resale. Disney is offering $1250 off of 150 pts right now.

I honestly had a brain fart and completely forgot that they recently changed the resale rules again. When I bought resale the only difference in perks was the Disney adventures collection and the cruise. And it's a waste in points to use them for that anyway.

If WL is your favorite, I would suggesting buying direct from the cheapest hotel you can for the fewest amount of points you can. Then get Saratoga resale. WL rarely sells out before 7 months. It's just not that popular. Maybe the new villas will change that, but I can't see it when there are 3 other DVC options in the area and on the monorail.

Is that discount for any resort or the Poly?

I saw 150 pts for sale at Hilton Head for like $10k. Whats the deal with that?

Because I'm new to all this...why wouldn't someone buy that for resale rather than something like Saratoga Springs?
