Driving from Birmingham to New Orleans June 23rd

I'm going to be in Birmingham for work Thursday the 22nd of June. The next day I plan on driving to New Orleans and stopping in maybe Montgomery, Mobile, and Biloxi on the way. I will be coming back that Sunday.
Any recommendations on things to stop and do on the way down or in New Orleans the weekend of the 23rd?

That's not the fastest way from Birmingham to New Orleans, just in case you weren't aware. I-59 is much quicker.

I know but I want to go through Mobile and Biloxi and hang out for a bit.

I'd just go straight to NOLA. It's only like 5 hours from Birmingham.

TBH, this is not something I would do. Depending on what time you leave, 65 south to Montgomery can be a parking lot leaving BHM.
In Montgomery, the Biscuits are in town that week. There is also the Hank Williams museum and a Zelda Fitzgerald museum. And some decent food/beer downtown and or near the stadium. There is another Hank museum in his hometown south of Montgomery if you are really into that music (never been to that one).
Not sure about day trips in Mobile. The obvious is the battle ship if you've never been on one. Just stayed at the Battle House Marriott. It has a nice roof top pool with several solid places to eat nearby.
As noted, I'd take 59 to New Orleans but to each their own.

I could get in to this.
The point of going the way I'm going is to stop in Biloxi and hit the casinos for a bit.

Save time on driving and go straight to New Orleans and go to Harrah's. Then you'll have more time in New Orleans and not Biloxi.

Another option would be to hit up the casinos in Philadelphia MS. It is basically on the way from BHM to NO on 59.
If you want to go 65, it is an easy drive to Mobile from BHM if you can avoid the traffic.

Take I-20/59. Stop in Meridian for a Double Good at News Restaurant. Then motor straight to New Orleans. That is the best route...trust me.

Murky Waters in Gulfport >>> The Shed for BBQ
Or if you want a hole in the wall dive bar, The Ugly Pirate for pizza in Gulfport area.

I stop at the Bates House of Turkey off I-65 in Greenville, Al-A-Bama sometimes when on that route.
Ditto on visiting the USS Alabama in Mobile.
If you do go I-59 instead, there's Dunn's River Falls off I-59 south of Meridian (before Laurel). Interesting to see, the mill itself isn't original to the site but you wouldn't expect to see something like that in (almost) southern Mississippi.

Murky waters in OS > murky waters Gulfport
Shuckers play Mississippi braves that weekend. After game, go out at beau or hard rock across the street or go to downtown OS
