Do I have any hope of getting something out of a non-refundable plane ticket?

I realize I can just call Delta directly but this situation isn't finalized yet. If/when it is I obviously will call them, but now just curious if any of y'all have dealt with something similar.
Several months back I purchased 2 plane tickets to NYC for me and the gf for March. The majority of the price was covered by a free flight voucher Delta gave me last year, and I paid the remaining balance with card. I booked directly through Delta if that matters.
Now it's looking semi-likely that gf won't be able to go...am I totally screwed here? I know that I bought non-refundable tickets so if worst comes to worst I know I have no one to blame but myself. But damn I hate to just eat it. Is there ANY potential outcome here other than me just being totally out of luck?

The taxes and fees are always 100% refundable. The only portion that is not is what you pay Delta. Why would delta pay a airport tax on a canceled ticket?

Well at least that's something. I just hate that I had house money to use on a ticket and it's basically just being thrown down the toilet, but again it's my fault.
What about the process of transferring her ticket to someone else's name, is that a possibility?

I had 4 non-refundable flights from ATL to MIA this time last year and my daughter got the flu 2 days before we were supposed to leave.
I didn't have much hope but I called and he let me change them to another date with no charge.
Just keep calling until you get the right agent.

Thanks. It's a group trip so I'm still going, she can't go because she's going to be starting a new job right around that time and won't be able to take off.
In an ideal scenario they would give me some kind of credit or something but I know that's unlikely. But moving her one, single ticket to another date isn't really feasible.
Oh well!

Cancel the flight. You will get a credit for the full amount.
Any ticket you book with the credit will be subject to the 200 buck change fee. If the credit is less than 200 bucks, then nothing comes back to you.
