Disney - Wishes rumored to being replaced

I heard someone else say that a replacement for Wishes was in the works a few months ago but I kind of ignored it like I do when I hear Disney is planning on a monorail to the airport.

They replaced the light show a few months back and got rid of the main street electric parade.

The castle projection show and the night time parade have both been changed the last couple of years (Spectromagic to MSEP and Celebrate the Magic to Once Upon A Time Castle Projection Show) but Wishes has been steady since 2003.

Illuminations started in 1999. I like it okay. But it needs a big update (I know it's had a few smaller ones).

I like that Illuminations can be seen fairly easy from anywhere around the lagoon and there is no need to stake out your spot in advance. Easier to enjoy an adult beverage before and during the show as well. Right now I'd say

Any show in the lake would be that way though. That's not really specific to illuminations. It's almost 20 years old. It's the only show I've known there. And I'm just tired of it I guess.

Not scrapped but still not done. My guess is at this point they're trying to beat Pandora opening this Summer. They had a CM preview back in November and from a technology standpoint I read it was awesome but it was boring and still missing alot of key elements.

Not at this time, no. MSEP ended back in October. Right now it's just Wishes and Once Upon a Time Castle Projection show.

Thats our plan in May as well after Spirit of Aloha. It's a great view but I haven't been there in a while and don't know the current situation with the music from the show. Last time we did it there were very few places that had speakers loud enough to hear the music.
Report back and let me know how it is if you don't mind.

Rumors about Wishes have been flying around the last few years. With them dropping the nighttime parade it wouldn't surprise me to finally see a new show. It's overdue, IMO, as is a replacement for Illuminations. I love both shows...but watching Illuminations tonight I couldn't help but think that they can do so much more now with all of the new tech there is.
But I'm still pissed that there's no nighttime parade in MK right now. It was just so odd walking through Liberty Square Saturday night with no one waiting for a parade. The street vendors selling all of the light up trinkets have to have seen demand plummet.

Can anyone ever even see the projections that are displayed on that floating globe during Illuminations? Regardless of where I stand, the technology is so poor that the images/videos are hard to make it. Time for a revamp.
