So my gf’s grandparents want to take her and I, and our 7 year old daughter to universal for a trip in May. What is the best route for finding package deal for the parks and resorts, etc.?

Find a local Universal/Disney Planner. They plan your trip for you at no cost to you usually. They know when most of the deals are available. They plan park days and most of your meals for you. The restaurants get booked up well in advance. Planner is the only way to go. Again most planners are paid by Disney/Universal.

Universal currently has a buy 2 days get 2 days free. They also have a Vacation package where you save up to $150 when you stay 4 nights or longer. With hotel accommodations and admission to all three theme parks included.

You have to purchase by 3/14/19 and use by 6/30/19.

we just got in on this as well and it worked out really good. we had planned on 2 days at US, but the way we do it is fly out later in the day (5-6pm) on our last day and do a 3rd day for "free". Catch an uber straight to the airport from the park. We did in july... check out of the room first thing that morning, bring our luggage to the park and if you talk with security etc you can leave it in the lost and found at the gate. park all day, then roll out right before your flight. boom. bonus day

One awesome thing too is that if you stay in one of the Universal Studios hotels, you get free front of the line passes. We stayed at the Royal Pacific recently and didn't find it to be too much more expensive than a regular nice hotel. They have a boat that will bring you right there so you don't have to drive to it and pay parking. The front of the line passes are worth their weight in gold especially if the park is going to be packed.
