Congaree National Park : Winter Visit

Park # 5 for the little guy and me. Trip was planned prior to the arctic blast that came through Jan 4-6. Overnight lows touched 12 F and remained below freezing most of the day. Sunny weather helped as we hiked through the park. 30,000 acres of the last in tact bottom growth hard wood forest in our great country.

Great to see kids out in Parks at such a young age. Also great to see the cold weather didn't ruin the trip.

Thanks...last year or so we decided to get outdoors more. The little guy (7 in May) has really taken a liking to being out in the parks , tent camping, seeing the wildlife upclose etc..

The park rangers tell us all the time they wish there’d see more younger folks visiting the parks.
