Was looking at the Olympus tough series camera , it's compact and waterproof.
Wife is thinking she would like a compact camera for trips when taking her big camera with the lens is a problem carrying.
I'm on the fence if we need this type of camera in addition to the big camera and iPhones.
Anyone have any insight into the pro's/con's and if it is worth the money in addition to what we already have.

I have this camera. I'm sure it's been upgraded in the past 4 yrs since I got mine. It takes ok photos, nothing special about it. You don't have to worry about dropping it or going underwater, so I usually take mine to the beach or offshore fishing. Otherwise, my dslr is going with me.

Doing Playa Del Carmen in a few days, Destin in two months and a canoe trip in between. So a lot of trips with water/beach hazards.

Then I would consider it. I have a gopro for underwater stuff now, but you're very limited in what you can do in terms of changing exposure settings, etc.
ETA:if I remember, I'll post some sample underwater pics that I have with my camera

That's a nice looking camera. I especially like the fact that it shoots in RAW format

I have this one
Really like it. Easy to use and pretty durable. I just wore it around my neck on a lanyard when I was doing water activities (kayaking, paddle boarding, etc). Being able to instantly access the pics on the app on my phone using the camera's wifi is a nice feature as well.

That's the other one I was looking at. T4 is very similar just has the ability to shoot Raw.

I was looking at one of these but the Olympus looks good also. I had a Pentax but it was stolen and I really liked it and it was 13 Megapixel. I had a Memory Chip that would hold over 3000 photos at High Quality.

We had started looking at non waterproof compact cameras. But, when the waterproof ones popped up and looking at their specs I thought to go with that as it gives me a different dimension than we already have with the bigger camera or iPhone camera.
