Getting married in CDMX late July, looking to honeymoon in Cabo for the first week in August. Probably looking to do all-inclusive but we will venture out as well. Any suggestions as far as resorts go?

If you're wiling to consider other locations on the Pacific side of Mexico, I'd highly recommend Casa Velas in Puerto Vallarta. All inclusive, small, adults-only boutique hotel and resort. Took my wife (no pics) for our 10th anniversary and am saving already for our 15th in November.

following....

we were looking into some places similar for an anniversary February 2023.

Couples trip.

-Tulum was brought up as well, anyone have any experience there and places to stay? looks like you have to fly into Cancun then travel about 90 min south to Tulum? Not sure how that would be.

Went to Cabo back in 2014 on a Bachelor party so totally different. Interested in other ideas as well..

Depends on budget… if you’re willing to pony up, I would recommend The One and Only Palmilla for all inclusive or Pedregal which is closer to the city and absolutely stunning.

Tulum is great too.. headed there again tomorrow, actually.. We stay at a boutique hotel called Encantada; Tulum is a different scene but definitely worth visiting…

Are you hoping to spend all day at a resort being pampered and boozin or are you wanting to get out and about on excursions and stuff like that?

Yeah, what kind of honeymoon do you want? Cabo has places that are "party central" and it has places that are isolated and serene.

In general, Cabo San Lucas is more "touristy" and is more of a party town, while San Jose del Cabo is more genteel (art galleries and such).

Why did you pick Cabo? In my opinion, Cabo is excellent for partying, surfing, deep-sea fishing, and golf. If you aren't particularly interested in any of those things, then I would say that there are resorts in other places that might have more to offer.

One of the things to be aware of with Cabo is that you can't really swim in the ocean from most of the beaches, and lots of beaches are regularly closed because of the high surf. There are only a few resorts in a couple of protected coves (the Hilton is one of them) where you can be confident of swimming in the ocean.

Is the ride from Cancun airport to Tulum bad?

When we make our trip we are looking to relax, but pending price of resort and also things to do there + in the area....depends on how much we would possibly leave.

If the resort has everything we need to do and theres not much extra outside would likely just stay.... if we dont spend much on the resort and theres plenty to do outside the resort then we'd venture.

The way I see it....

It's been awhile since we've traveled outside the country and done the all-inclusive so just looking to relax really with some couples and not do much

Picked Cabo as I've never been to the Pacific before, and we're getting married in Mexico City and wanted to stay in Mexico for ease and cost of travel. Living in GA, the Carribean and Cancun are easily accessible, so wanted something a bit different. I'm definitely open for other suggestions on the Pacific side.

Don't have to go cheap, but would like to get good value for the money.

We stayed at Playa Grande. It's an ok place, but not for a honeymoon. It's a short 15 min walk to the Marina. The Solar Resort down the beach towards the Arch looks very nice. Maybe check that one out. There's also the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal near there.

Just know that August is the rainy season in Cabo. It rains every other day and it's very hot and humid that time of year. Just an FYI.

We’ve been to Cabo at least a dozen times and August can be brutally hot and humid. With enough tequila it will still be fun…

Went to a wedding at Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach and really enjoyed it.

Did not like Villa del Arco.

Look at Huatulco or Nayarit or Sayulita. They are a little more off the beaten path (although not as much any more) and a little less touristy. These will be a little quieter, so if you want the touristy, party stuff, stick with Cabo or Vallarta.

Esperanza is great! In that category would also be one and only Palmia, las ventanas. Also flora farms and acre would be worth taking a look at. As mentioned before, depends on what your looking to do. A lot of great things to do in Cabo. I spend a few weeks a year down there so can probably point you in the right direction depending on what you want to do.

Tulum is also great. They are getting an airport soon so it will soon be extremely touristy. The ride from cancun isn’t bad at all. They have shuttles that provide you beer and drinks for the ride.

Being in Mexico City, you are about three hours away from San Miguel. I just got back from there last week with my wife and 7 month old. It’s a real cool city worth visiting too!

San Miguel is definitely on the list as well as Queretaro!

those will be a bit further down the line though.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions youve given me a lot to research.
