Options are Norweigian, Royal Carib, Celebrity, Princess, Holland Am and Carnival
Spare us the Carnival bashing. I know the drill. Just listing it in case it is different in AK
TIA

You aren't going to AK for the cruise boat experience, you go for the excursions. I went last year on Carnival and it was awesome. Alaska is going to be beautiful no matter which ship you are on.

Any of the major lines are fine, but make sure it's taking the route you want to go. There are more options than many people think.
If you really want adventure and not shore excursions, consider a small ship cruise, like Un-Cruise Adventures. More pricey but you see far more of what you came to see.

Some lines offer Vancouver/Seattle to Seward or Whittier. Others do a round trip.
They generally go to either Tracy Arm Fjord, Glacier Bay or Hubbard Glacier (only cross gulf cruises) so it's kind of important to figure out what route, ports of call and wilderness areas you would like to see. Some are in Juneau for only half a day, others a full day. Several call on Haines, Sitka and Icy Straights (Hoonah, a native village) but most visit Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway.
White Pass train up to the Canadian Border is worth it in Skagway, particularly if you enjoy history.
I've worked off and on in the industry.

It really does depend what you want to see. It isn't a party cruise so the ship is less important. I have heard from MANY people that the must-see in Alaska is Glacier Bay and the only lines that go there are Princess and Holland America (I think). So if you can't do those (or don't want to) then start researching all the different places in Alaska and choose a line that goes where you want to go. I am doing an Alaskan cruise this summer and next, both on Celebrity. One to Hubbard Glacier and the other to Tracy Arm Fjord. Can't wait.

Tracy Arm is like Glacier Bay in miniature. It's more visually stunning IMO, but GB has some features Tracy Arm doesn't have.
You can do both on one cruise though. If your ship does Glacier Bay, you can go to Tracy Arm on a shore ex from Juneau. Tracy Arm is best seen from a smaller ship anyway IMO. Princess does a good job of explaining Tracy Arm in this video, it's well done.
Glacier Bay is broad with multiple tidewater glaciers, Tracy Arm is a classic narrow fjord with steep walls and thousands of waterfalls. Good chance to see bears in Tracy Arm. I've taken many photos throughout the years and camp there on occasion. There's absolutely no sign man has ever been there with the exception of the vessels in the water
This was my camping spot between the two Sawyer glaciers

I've been several times on different lines, but my soon to be wife has never been so I want her to see it.
It looks like Celebrity is what I am going to choose as well (out of Seattle round trip). The agenda looks great. Our in port activities will likely be of the active kind (hiking, kayaking, train/bike ride in Skagway). I'm not a big fan of Victoria, but I think she will enjoy it at the end of the trip.
We can do a northbound or southbound another time maybe.
The last time I went was 10+ years ago which is why I wanted to ask here. So thanks to all.
